Iconic British duo Tears For Fears debuts a brand new song “Astronaut” alongside a live version of their hit single “Head Over Heels.”

The tracks will appear on the band’s first-ever official live album, Songs For A Nervous Planet, which is set for release on October 25th, 2024.

The album includes 4 new studio tracks, including “Astronaut” as well as the previously released song “The Girl That I Call Home.”

“‘Astronaut’ started out during the sessions for The Tipping Point,” recalls Curt Smith. “Once we realized that we were going to end up doing more than just one new track for this album, Roland sent me the original recording of ‘Astronaut’ and I had forgotten how good of a song it was as it gives you a sense of release. It’s a horrible comparison but it’s the sorbet in between courses where you just can have a little breath and just float away. Forgive the pun but that’s the feeling the song has.”

Smith furthers, “Emotionally it’s about this guy who doesn’t feel he belongs here and wants to be an astronaut floating out into space…a lot of people identify with the emotion of that song, that sense of alienation.”

Along with the album, the duo will present their global fanbase with a stunning concert film shot and recorded at the scenic FirstBank Amphitheater at Graystone Quarry in Franklin, TN, during their sold-out global Tipping Point Tour Part 2. Tears For Fears Live (A Tipping Point Film) will premiere in over 1,100 cinemas worldwide on October 24 and October 26, 2024 via Trafalgar Releasing.

On creating the album and film, Smith shares, “We decided to film the live show last year. I think a lot of people don’t know that we are a good live band, actually! They see a duo, and they think it’s going to be two people with a couple of keyboards and a bunch of backing tapes, and that’ll be it. Over the years, we’ve vastly improved since our heyday back in the Eighties.” Roland Orzabal adds, “We’ve never released an official live album, so you could say this is an album forty years in the making.”

Across the albums 22 tracks, Songs For A Nervous Planet highlights the bands transcendent live performances as they journey through The Tipping Point Tour setlist and beyond. Along with the live recordings, the album features four new studio tracks: “Say Goodbye To Mum And Dad,” “Emily Said,” “Astronaut” and “The Girl That I Call Home.” These new songs expand on the career-spanning setlist, covering love, isolation, mental health, and escapism.

Multiple ARIA and GRAMMY Award winner Keith Urban today releases his new track “GO HOME W U” with Lainey Wilson, the third song released from his forthcoming album, slated for release later this year.

The up-tempo, ‘fuzzy good feeling towards all friends and strangers’ song, was not meant to be a duet,” says Urban. So, when the CMA Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson signed on, the song took shape. “GO HOME W U,” follows the release of Urban’s current single “Messed Up As Me” as well as the song “Straight Line”, released earlier this year.

“I wrote “GO HOME W U” in 2020 with BRELAND, Sam (Sumser) and Sean (Small),” said Urban. “We had a blast writing it. It started out as a late-night drum loop, I grabbed a bass guitar and started playing a simple recurring bass line. Before we knew it, we were writing a chorus that could be sung by any drunk person in any bar anywhere in the world.”

He adds, “A friend of mine suggested the idea of making the song a duet and I immediately thought of Lainey. Besides the fact that I love her voice, she’s got the swagger and attitude that fit so well with the song.”

“Keith has been someone in the industry I’ve taken notes from for a while now,” said Wilson. “From watching him at CMA Fest every year growing up to hearing the way he treats people up and down music row, he has taught me a lot. He’s a genuine supporter of mine and I am honored I get to continue to learn from one of the best. Getting to do a song with Keith is a notch on my belt I am very proud of.”

Having won three GRAMMY and six BRIT awards, Dua Lipa releases ‘Training Season’ – the second single from her upcoming album, out later this year.

Speaking of the track, Dua shares, “I had been on a string of bad dates, and the last one was the final straw. The next morning I arrived to the studio to Caroline and Tobias asking me how it all went and I immediately declared ‘TRAINING SEASON IS OVER,’ and like the best ‘day after’ debriefs with your mates, we had a lot of laughs and it all quickly came together from there.”

Directed by Vincent Haycock, the “Training Season” video opens with Dua’s voicemail being flooded with apologetic messages and second chance requests. As the song continues, Dua sits alone while she’s surrounded by men vying for her attention as the room begins to spin into chaos. “Training Season” was written by Lipa, along with Caroline Ailin, Danny L. Harle, Tobias Jesso Jr., and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, and was produced by Parker and Harle.

Earlier this month, Dua kicked off the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards with an electric medley performance of “Training Season,” “Dance The Night,” and “Houdini,” which you can watch here. Dua will return to the stage at the BRIT Awards on March 2nd, where she’s nominated for three awards including Artist of the Year, Best Pop Act, and Song of the Year for “Dance The Night.”

Mumford & Sons and Pharrell  reveal “Good People”, a new collaborative single through Dew Process / Gentlemen of The Road / Island Records.

Mumford & Sons and Pharrell began their friendship over ten years ago while touring festivals and had always talked about making music together. Last summer, with the band back out on the road headlining a string of global festival shows, they reconnected at Pharrell’s “SOMETHING IN THE WATER” festival at Virginia Beach. Their mutual admiration and respect had only grown over the years, and they decided to join up in New York and then Paris to write and record some new songs together, with Pharrell producing.

A new track, Good People, burst into fruition, out of the joy, hope and energy in the room.

The spark of this song has generated a lot of excitement, so Mumford & Sons have decided to kick off 2024 with the release of this first single. It also marks the British band’s first new music in five years.

It’s timely too, with Pharrell asking Mumford & Sons if he could feature Good People in his Louis Vuitton Men’s Autumn/Winter runway show at Paris Fashion Week. The band also attended the show, performing Good People for the first time in a special short live set for all in attendance.
