Behind every BLAST tournament is a complex logistics operation that has to work flawlessly across continents, venues, and time zones. For the 2026 season and beyond, BLAST is strengthening that backbone through a new multi-year partnership with EFM Global.

BLAST has officially named EFM Global as its Official Global Logistics Partner, tasking the world-leading logistics specialist with managing the production and technical infrastructure behind more than 20 international esports events each year.

How EFM Global Supports BLAST’s Global Circuit

Under the agreement, EFM Global will play a central role in delivering BLAST’s world-class tournaments across multiple regions. That responsibility covers the movement and setup of critical production equipment, staging, and broadcast technology required to deliver a consistent Tier 1 esports experience worldwide.

Each BLAST event involves the transportation of up to 18 tonnes of air freight, alongside multi-container sea freight and international road transport. EFM will also oversee the movement of server farms, broadcast systems, staging structures, truss builds, LED architecture, and competition-grade technology kits that power both live audiences and global broadcasts.

The scale of this operation highlights just how demanding modern esports events have become, especially as BLAST continues to expand its international calendar.

Integration Across Broadcasts And Fan Experiences

Beyond logistics, the partnership includes full integration of the EFM Global brand across BLAST’s global ecosystem. This will include digital and physical logo placements during broadcasts, as well as branded content across BLAST’s social media channels.

BLAST has also confirmed plans to produce bespoke content highlighting EFM’s operational role, including an aftermovie that pulls back the curtain on what it takes to deliver Tier 1 esports events around the world. Branded daily segments are expected to appear across both social platforms and live broadcasts throughout the season.

Industry Leaders On Why Logistics Matter In Esports

James Brown, Commercial Director at BLAST, described the partnership as a key step in maintaining the organiser’s global standards.

“EFM is the gold standard in event logistics, and we’re thrilled to welcome them as our Official Global Logistics Partner for 2026 and beyond,” Brown said. “Their expertise helps us deliver unforgettable esports experiences for fans around the world. This partnership strengthens the operational backbone of what makes BLAST events truly world-class.”

EFM Global also pointed to the unique challenges that esports presents compared to traditional live events.

“What makes esports uniquely complex is the fusion of elite sport, broadcast television and touring production,” said Marcel Meyer, Global VP Events at EFM Global. “Teams arrive with high-performance support crews because the athletes perform at exceptional reflex thresholds. That competitive standard drives enormous technical expectations behind the scenes, and that is where EFM and BLAST thrive.”

A Packed 2026 Calendar Across Multiple Esports

BLAST’s 2026 calendar already includes a wide range of international destinations, with EFM’s first event as an official partner set to be a Counter-Strike tournament in Rotterdam. The season is already underway following the BLAST Bounty Winter 2026 finals in Malta, which ran from January 22 to 26 and delivered one of the circuit’s most-watched events so far.

Throughout the year, BLAST will continue producing competitions across multiple major titles, including Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, Rocket League, Fortnite, Rainbow Six Siege X, and Brawl Stars. The organiser also works closely with leading publishers such as Valve, Epic Games, Supercell, and Ubisoft.

As BLAST continues to scale its global operations, the partnership with EFM Global underlines just how critical logistics have become in delivering seamless esports events at the highest level.

The Biggest Collegiate Esports Championship Moves to a New Texas Home

The Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup, better known as CECC May Madness, is gearing up for its biggest year yet. EsportsU and the Collegiate Sports Management Group have confirmed that the 2026 edition of the championship will take place in Waco, Texas, from May 1 to 3.
The move marks a fresh chapter for the event, which has spent the last three years in Arlington.

CECC May Madness is widely regarded as the premier multi-title collegiate esports championship in North America. It brings together the best student players from more than 800 colleges and universities across Divisions I, II, and III, all competing for national titles in games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Rocket League, Overwatch, VALORANT, NBA 2K, and more.

With its growing scale and cultural impact, CECC May Madness has become a key event in the competitive gaming calendar for student-athletes across the country.

A Record-Breaking Year for Student Esports

Next year’s championship weekend is set to be the biggest in CECC history. Organisers expect more than 2,000 student-athletes to take part across three full days of competition.

The event is being run in partnership with the PlayVS College League, which will host its 2026 Spring Championship inside the same venue. Both groups have been working closely to build a unified calendar and give collegiate players a proper national pathway.

The action officially begins on April 30 with Thursday Night Lights, a new opening night tradition at Baylor University’s McLane Stadium. The evening will include a jersey presentation, live entertainment, a high school showcase match, and a social event for players and coaches.

Organisers say the goal is to bring the pageantry of traditional college sports into the world of esports, creating an atmosphere that feels just as competitive and just as meaningful for the students taking part.

A Festival Weekend for Fans and the Local Community

The championship is not just a competition. CECC May Madness 2026 will deliver a full festival-style weekend for fans, students, and local visitors.

Across the Waco Convention Center’s 144,000 square feet, attendees will find:

Cosplay showcases

Food trucks

Trading card game tournaments

An artists’ alley

Creator meet-and-greets

A college recruiting fair

High school esports combines

Educational panels

The event aims to create a welcoming environment for Gen Z audiences and families while turning Waco into a temporary hub for gaming and youth culture.

Mike Vogelaar, Executive Director of the Greater Waco Sports Commission, says the city is ready to embrace its new role.

“We’re thrilled to welcome CECC May Madness to Waco and build on the event’s roots in Texas,” Vogelaar said. “It’s a major opportunity to showcase our city as a hub for innovation, community, and next-generation entertainment.”

A New Home With Big Potential

The shift from Arlington to Waco marks the first venue change in several years, and organisers say the city offers the right mix of accessibility and atmosphere.

The convention centre will be transformed into a multi-stage esports arena filled with competition spaces, fan experiences, and exhibitor activations. Organisers chose Waco for its central location, walkable downtown district, and strong college-town identity.

2026 also marks the sixth official edition of CECC May Madness, which has steadily grown since its founding in 2022. Last year’s event drew more than 5,000 in-person attendees and over 5 million livestream viewers, a 27 percent jump from the previous year. It has also attracted major sponsors including McDonald’s, Cisco, the U.S. Army, Sour Punch, and Red Bull.

The growth reflects the wider rise of collegiate esports in the United States. Throughout 2025, universities continued expanding their programmes, while brands like Alienware and Samsung pushed deeper into collegiate tournaments and partnerships.

A Defined Pathway for Hundreds of Schools

For 2026, CECC May Madness will continue its conference-based qualification system.
Twenty-five official conference partners will receive a total of 106 auto-qualifying bids for the championship, giving institutions a clear competitive structure similar to traditional sports pathways.

According to CSMG, this system is helping shape the future of college esports by giving schools a national framework they can trust. It also opens doors for future developments, including NIL opportunities, performance analytics, and long-term competitive growth.

Angela Bernhard Thomas, Chief Esports Officer at CSMG, says the momentum is clear.

“The growth we’re seeing across conferences, universities, and student participation shows just how fast scholastic esports is accelerating,” she said. “CECC May Madness gives conferences a national stage to showcase their talent and embrace esports as a recognised part of the collegiate athletics landscape.”

More details about ticketing, livestream schedules, and on-site activities will be shared in the coming months.

oaly, who joins from Geekay Esports, had a standout season that included a runner-up finish at the Esports World Cup. Geekay even sent their best wishes on social media, saying, “Take good care of him fellas.”

Together, they form a strong European trio with a balance of youthful energy and tournament experience, exactly what NIP needs heading into a new competitive year.

A New Chapter After a Clean Slate

This announcement follows a complete roster reset for NIP. The organisation parted ways with its previous players and coaching staff on October 3rd, 2025, signalling a full rebuild in preparation for 2026.

During the 2025 season, NIP showed flashes of brilliance but struggled to maintain consistent top-tier finishes. Despite falling short in earlier majors, the team made a powerful late-season comeback, winning the RLCS 2025 European Last Chance Qualifier by defeating Team BDS 4–1 to earn a spot at the World Championship.

At Worlds, NIP held their own, finishing seventh overall and bowing out to Karmine Corp in the lower bracket playoffs. It was a solid showing, but one that clearly motivated the organisation to refresh its Rocket League lineup and aim higher in 2026.

Looking Ahead to RLCS 2026

The Rocket League Championship Series 2026 kicks off on November 14th, and all eyes will be on NIP’s new lineup to see how the revamped squad performs against some of the world’s best.

With Coach LBP at the helm and a roster stacked with proven talent, Ninjas in Pyjamas look poised for a strong showing. As their announcement boldly stated, “Bobby really cooked this one.”

Fans can only hope the new recipe leads to trophies.

Two Nights of Esports and Celebration

This year’s KCX will be split across two themed nights, each spotlighting different aspects of Karmine Corp’s journey and future.

Friday, December 19: The opening night will be all about celebrating the organisation’s legacy. Fans will get the chance to relive unforgettable moments alongside legendary players from Karmine Corp’s League of Legends and VALORANT rosters. The festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. local time and are set to honour five years of Karmine Corp’s rise from grassroots beginnings to international recognition.

Saturday, December 20: The focus then shifts to the 2026 season. Starting from 4:30 p.m., the evening will feature a best-of-five League of Legends show match, unveiling Karmine Corp’s new rosters for the upcoming competitive year. This night acts as both a symbolic handoff to the next chapter and a bold showcase of what’s to come.

While the Rocket League squad won’t be attending due to overlapping tournament commitments, the event will remain centred on Karmine Corp’s two flagship titles, League of Legends and VALORANT.

Inside the Adidas Arena

Set within the 8,500-seat Adidas Arena, KCX 5 is shaping up to be another major spectacle in the European esports calendar. The venue is a familiar name for esports fans, as it’s also scheduled to host the Rainbow Six Siege Six Invitational 2026 early next year.

Tickets for KCX 5 start at €45, with sales opening from Friday, October 24 at 12 p.m. (CET) through the venue’s official website. Given the scale of the fanbase and past sell-outs, seats are expected to move quickly.

Looking Back and Moving Forward

Founded in 2020, Karmine Corp has grown into one of Europe’s largest and most influential esports organisations. The team’s success spans multiple titles, including League of Legends, VALORANT, and Rocket League.

In 2025 alone, the organisation clinched the LEC Winter Split with a commanding 3–0 win over G2 Esports and placed second at the First Stand 2025 international event. Their Rocket League roster also made waves, capturing trophies at both the RLCS Birmingham Major and the Esports World Cup, solidifying Karmine Corp as a top-tier European contender.

KCX’s Continued Growth

What began as a fan gathering has evolved into one of esports’ most ambitious live events. KCX has become synonymous with massive crowds, creative showmatches, and emotional fan moments, blurring the line between competition and celebration.

KCX 4 hit a 174,136-viewer peak, and expectations for KCX 5 are even higher as fans anticipate new rosters, returning stars, and possible surprise announcements.

For both fans attending in person and those tuning in online, KCX 5 is set to be a defining chapter in Karmine Corp’s ever-growing legacy, a moment where the past and future of the blue wall meet under one roof.

The programme, which served as a platform for streamers and influencers representing Complexity across multiple games and events, has been an integral part of the organisation’s identity. Its creators not only entertained fans on stream but also worked with charitable initiatives such as Extra Life, helping to raise awareness and funds for good causes.

In an announcement shared on October 8, 2025, Complexity said it was “sadly announcing the end” of its content creator programme, marking the conclusion of a key chapter in the organisation’s history. The decision follows a period of downscaling, as Complexity continues to restructure amid broader financial pressures within the esports industry.

Sad to be closing down our creator program after 10 years and working with dozens of not hundreds of the industry’s best. So thankful to each and every person that made this program so successful and wishing the best to those who are departing. <3 https://t.co/6uFo52M5s9

The shutdown comes on the heels of several major exits for Complexity this year. In June, the organisation announced its departure from Apex Legends esports, ending a six-year run in the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS). Then, in August, Complexity stepped away from Counter-Strike 2, citing economic challenges as the driving factor.

Despite the cutbacks, Complexity isn’t entirely leaving the competitive scene. The organisation continues to field teams in Rocket League and Halo, with the latter set to appear at the Halo World Championship 2025, the final major event for Halo Infinite before the title’s official retirement from the Halo Championship Series later this year.

Founded in 2003, Complexity stands as one of esports’ most enduring organisations, with a legacy that spans multiple eras of competitive gaming. Its decision to shutter the creator programme represents not just a loss for the team, but a reflection of the wider tightening across the esports landscape.

As the industry continues to evolve, many will be watching closely to see how Complexity adapts to its next phase, and whether this is a temporary retreat or the start of a new direction.

NRG have cemented themselves as Rocket League’s best after taking down Team Falcons 4-1 to win the RLCS World Championship 2025 inside the LDLC Arena in Lyon, France.

The North American side lifted the trophy in front of nearly 10,000 fans, securing $300,000 in prize money and writing themselves into Rocket League history as one of only three organisations to ever win two world titles.

NRG’s Road to Glory

NRG arrived in Lyon as the top North American seed and quickly showed why they were considered favourites. They opened with a nail-biting 3-2 win over Ninjas in Pyjamas, followed by a 3-1 victory against Team Secret to book their playoff spot.

In the upper bracket quarter-final, the all-American clash against The Ultimates went down to the wire, but NRG edged it 4-3 to advance. Their semi-final was far more straightforward, cruising past Geekay Esports 4-0 to set up a blockbuster Grand Final against Team Falcons, who had been the top-performing LAN team of the year.

Game one went NRG’s way with a hard-fought 3-2 win, but Falcons immediately struck back with a 1-0 victory in game two. From there, though, NRG turned on the style, rattling off three straight wins to close out the series 4-1 and claim the championship.

MVP Performances and Redemption Stories

Landon “BeastMode” Konerman was named RLCS 2025 Season MVP, while teammate Daniel “Daniel” Piecenski earned North America’s RLCS MVP award. For both Daniel and BeastMode, this was their first ever world title, a career-defining achievement that instantly puts them among Rocket League’s elite.

For Massimo “Atomic” Franceschi, the win carried even more weight. After falling short at two previous World Championships, he finally got to lift the trophy, completing NRG’s redemption arc.

Record-Breaking French Finale

The World Championship capped off an incredible fortnight for esports in France, coming right after the Fortnite Global Championships. With fans from more than 26 countries in attendance, the event delivered a massive $50 million economic boost to the city of Lyon.

The LDLC Arena crowd provided an electric atmosphere that underscored France’s growing reputation as a hub for global esports.

What’s Next for Rocket League Esports

The Rocket League Championship Series isn’t slowing down. Paris La Défense Arena, Europe’s largest indoor venue with a 25,000 capacity, has been confirmed as the host of RLCS Major 2 from May 20–24, 2026. It will be the biggest Rocket League event venue in history, marking another step forward for the esport.

Before then, the 2026 season will kick off this November with online Opens, followed by a new Kick-Off LAN in Copenhagen this December. The first Major of the year will take place in North America, with further details on the next World Championship still to come.

Fans also won’t have to wait long for new content in-game. Rocket League Season 20 launches on September 17, bringing fresh updates and rewards.

NRG Make History

NRG’s triumph in Lyon isn’t just another tournament win. It’s the organisation’s second world title after their Season 8 triumph in 2019, and a confirmation of their place among Rocket League’s greatest teams.

For Atomic, BeastMode, and Daniel, this championship will be remembered as the moment they etched their names into Rocket League history.

Playing on home soil in Riyadh, the Falcons locked in first place in the Club Championship, collecting a staggering $7 million prize and stamping their mark across the esports landscape.

Their run was nothing short of overwhelming. Falcons competed in 21 of the 25 events this year, finishing at the top of the leaderboards in Free Fire and Call of Duty: Warzone, with Tekken 8 star Atif “ATIF” Ijaz also turning heads. Add in strong results across Rocket League, Apex Legends, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and the Falcons left rivals like Team Liquid in the dust.

“They bought every team”

While the trophy shines brightly in Riyadh, the reaction online has been far more mixed. Many fans accused Falcons of winning by default, pointing out that they’ve bought into almost every esport on the EWC stage.

“125 rosters and stress until the end, let’s realise the almost pathetic performance,” one user wrote, while another posted the now-viral line:

“We bought a team in every esport that not every org has, so we win by default.”

The perception that Falcons simply spent their way to the top has become the defining talking point of this year’s EWC. For some, it’s proof of Saudi Arabia’s growing power in the esports world. For others, it’s the very definition of pay-to-win.

This org and tournament are a disgrace to E-sports. pic.twitter.com/Uen3J0iHeL

The NPC fan debate

Adding to the firestorm was a viral clip from Team Spirit’s CS2 captain Leonid “chopper” Vishnyakov, who joked that Falcons’ supporters were just “300 hired workers” told to chant in the stands.

What might have been throwaway banter quickly blew up. Falcons fans, especially in the Arab community, saw it as a serious insult, and chopper’s socials were flooded with backlash. Event staff even asked him to delete the video, and reports claim he may need private security while in Riyadh.

Meanwhile, esports Twitter had a field day, with memes comparing Falcons’ fan section to NPC crowds from EA Sports FC.

Is it me, or do the Falcons fans look like EAFC NPC’s? pic.twitter.com/oSZKTzYX9Z

— CS2-Universe (@CS2Universe) August 21, 2025

Overshadowing the players

Another sore point among fans was the lack of recognition for individual champions. While Falcons as an organisation grabbed the headlines, players like the Street Fighter champion who battled his way to victory barely got mentioned.

You’re still being disrespectful to the Street Fighter player who won. You’d rather say that Falcons won the EWC than give credit to the player’s victory. Bunch of hypocrites.

— Léopold 🔥❄️ (@FlamingFrost_) August 21, 2025

It’s a reminder that behind the Falcons brand, real players are grinding, competing, and putting in the work, something the pay-to-win narrative can sometimes overshadow.

Pride at home, scepticism abroad

Still, for Falcons and their CEO Mossad “Msdossary” Al-Dossary, the Club Championship means more than outside criticism. After clinching the title, he said through tears:

“We promised ourselves that we wanted this trophy to stay at home. Now, finally, we can say it’s home. This is for all the Saudi people. It remains in Saudi.”

That emotional moment highlights the divide: inside Riyadh, Falcons are heroes bringing pride to the region. Outside of it, many still see them as proof that money can buy trophies.

The bigger picture

With two EWC Club Championships in a row and an unrivalled presence across nearly every esport, Team Falcons aren’t going anywhere. Whether you see them as trailblazers or just the ultimate pay-to-win org, they’ve changed the way the esports world looks at competition.

The real question now: will other organisations follow their model, or will the backlash eventually force a rethink on how esports’ biggest prizes are decided?

The UK-based esports organisation Guild Esports, once backed by David Beckham and hailed as one of Britain’s biggest hopes in competitive gaming, has officially shut its doors. The company confirmed the closure in a statement, citing financial challenges and the wider economic climate as reasons why it could no longer keep operating.

An Important message from Guild Esports & Gaming Limited

After careful consideration, we must share the difficult news that Guild Esports & Gaming will be closing.

— Guild Gaming (@guildesports) August 21, 2025

But behind the polished announcement, many within the community are left frustrated, and in some cases, unpaid.

From Beckham’s Backing to Bankruptcy

Guild Esports burst onto the scene in 2020 with big promises and even bigger names. With former England and Manchester United star David Beckham on board as a part-owner, the organisation quickly secured high-profile partnerships with Sky and Subway, and made history as the first esports team to be publicly listed on the London Stock Exchange.

The hype, however, didn’t translate to financial success. Guild’s stock price tumbled over the years, dropping more than 90% from its early peak. Despite raising funds and even selling a 25% stake in Ginx TV, the organisation never found solid financial ground. Losses ballooned, reportedly around the £2m mark, and by October 2024, US investment firm DCB Sports LLC stepped in, acquiring Guild for just £100k plus £2m in liabilities.

DCB, which also owns stakes in Venezia FC and the Monaco Women’s football team, kept the brand alive for less than a year before putting it up for sale on an insolvency market earlier this month. With no buyer found, Guild has now folded completely.

A Legacy of Wins, And Unpaid Wages

Despite the financial mess, Guild’s rosters did manage to find success. The organisation picked up major accolades such as winning the FIFA eChampions League in 2022, Fortnite’s FNCS: 2021 Grand Royale (Europe), and even the inaugural Prodigy Racing League championship. Guild also fielded teams in Apex Legends, Rocket League, and sim racing, making them a familiar name in international competitions.

But behind the trophies, a storm has been brewing. Multiple female content creators and players have come forward claiming that Guild owes them money. Esports host Frankie Ward was one of the loudest voices, accusing Guild of exploiting women in gaming.

What they’ve actually done is to exploit a ton of women in gaming – I’ve not had a single invoice from this year paid, and they had a non-compete clause for their sponsor Sky Broadband for the five month period that I hosted for them, blocking me from actually making money. https://t.co/O7wcmOdjvC

— Frankie Ward (@FrankieWard) August 21, 2025

She also revealed that Guild’s exclusive sponsorship deals blocked her from earning elsewhere, leaving her financially stuck.

It’s not just creators. Reports suggest that Apex Legends pros from Guild’s roster at the Esports World Cup are still waiting for prize money. Employees and even competition winners have also raised concerns about unpaid invoices.

The situation has left many furious, especially as Guild continued paying for extras like a gold check-marked Twitter account costing over £1k a month, while allegedly ignoring debts to their own players and staff.

Saying ‘financial challenges have made it impossible to continue to operate’ from a profile that is paying £1k a month for a gold tick and yet owes people money for work is irony at its finest…

Esports man 🙈 https://t.co/1TfNuAyxFA

— Jeff Simpkins (@HereLiesJeff) August 21, 2025

The Final Statement

In their closure announcement, Guild tried to highlight their efforts in representation and inclusion:

“From day one, our mission extended far beyond competition. We’ve been privileged to champion representation and create opportunities within our industry using esports and gaming as powerful tools for inspiration, inclusion, and empowerment.”

But critics argue that these words ring hollow when so many people remain unpaid.

What Went Wrong?

At the end of the day, Guild’s story feels like a mix of over-promise and under-delivery. Beckham’s involvement seemed more like a marketing gimmick than genuine passion for esports. The organisation spread itself too thin, failed to turn partnerships into profit, and never managed to operate sustainably.

Their downfall isn’t an isolated case either, 2025 has been a brutal year for esports, with organisations like Complexity even exiting Counter-Strike after two decades. Still, Guild’s collapse is particularly bitter for those who put in the work and may never see the money they’re owed.

For fans, players, and staff, Guild’s shutdown is the end of a short but chaotic chapter in UK esports history. Whether its legacy will be remembered more for its early achievements or its messy exit is a question only time will answer.

Early dominance in groups

Karmine Corp kicked things off with a statement win, sweeping Virtus.pro 3-0 in their opening group stage clash. Their next test came against North American powerhouse NRG, with a playoff spot on the line.

The French side jumped ahead to a 2-0 lead, but NRG weren’t about to roll over. The Americans clawed their way back to force a decisive fifth game. With everything on the line, Karmine Corp kept their composure and sealed a 2-1 win, booking their place in the knockout rounds.

Taking down the favourites

Once in playoffs, KC showed no signs of slowing down. A 4-1 quarterfinal win over Team Secret set the stage for a semifinal battle against home favourites Team Falcons. In front of a loud Saudi crowd, Karmine Corp silenced the arena with a 4-2 series victory.

On the other side of the bracket, Geekay Esports outlasted Team Vitality in a thrilling seven-game marathon, setting up an all-European final.

Finals: French flair

The grand final was one-way traffic early on. Karmine Corp stormed to a 3-0 series lead without conceding a single goal. Geekay showed fight with a 3-1 win in Game 4, but that was as far as their comeback went.

The Moroccan star has now gone back-to-back at EWC, having won the 2024 title with Team BDS. His switch to Karmine Corp couldn’t have gone better, leading his new team to the biggest prize in Rocket League this year.

This win makes Karmine Corp the 18th different club to grab an Esports World Cup title, slotting them into 11th place on the Club Championship leaderboard. However, with this being their last EWC event of the year, their climb up the standings is done.

Meanwhile, Team Falcons added crucial points with a third-place finish after beating Vitality in one of the most dramatic endings of the tournament. In a bizarre last-second play, Vitality’s ExoTiiK demolished an opponent only to accidentally redirect the ball into his own net, gifting Falcons the win.

That victory may prove massive in the race for the overall Club Championship. Falcons now sit on top of the leaderboard with 4,700 points, and with representation in all three remaining events, they’re in prime position to take home the ultimate crown.

From August 14 to 17, the high-flying, turbo-charged football-with-cars madness will take over Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and with a million US dollars on the line, you can bet teams will be going flat out.

Last year’s tournament had everything: highlight reel saves, clutch goals, and one of the biggest upsets in Rocket League history. Team Falcons looked unstoppable, tearing through the group stage without dropping a map and cruising past G2 Stride in the semis. But then came Team BDS, the scrappy survivors of the lower bracket, who flipped the script and shut down Falcons 4–2 in a tense final. Falcons fans were left scratching their heads, while BDS walked away with the crown.

This year? The field’s wide open.

The Format, No Room for Error

The tournament kicks off with 16 teams split into four groups. Each group runs on a double-elimination bracket, lose twice and you’re out. The top two from each group move on to the playoffs, where it’s single elimination from there.

Quarterfinals and early rounds are best-of-five, but the semis and Grand Final will switch to best-of-seven. That’s where the real mind games start, with more time for teams to adapt, change tactics, and pull off those nail-biting comebacks.

Who’s In the Running?

The lineup is stacked with talent from every corner of the Rocket League Championship Series:

Europe: Karmine Corp, Dignitas, Team Vitality

North America: NRG, The Ultimates, SpaceStation Gaming, Gen.G Esports

Big Money, Bigger Stakes

The Rocket League prize pool sits at a cool $1 million USD, with every team getting a slice – but first place will pocket the lion’s share along with bragging rights for the next year. There’s also a $10,000 MVP bonus for the standout player of the tournament. Here’s the breakdown.

How to Watch

If you can’t make it to Riyadh, you won’t miss out. Every match will be streamed live on Twitch at twitch.tv/ewc and on the EWC YouTube channel. Expect highlight packages, interviews, and plenty of community memes flooding social media after each day’s play.

So mark your calendars, Rocket League at EWC 2025 is shaping up to be a high-speed, high-skill showdown you won’t want to miss. And if last year taught us anything, it’s that in Rocket League, no one’s safe from a surprise upset.
