A semi-pro Counter-Strike 2 player known as MAUschine has been hit with a minimum 10-year ban from DACH CS Masters after sucker punching his opponent Fabian “Spidergum” Salomon on stage during the awards ceremony at CAGGTUS Leipzig. The 31-year-old streamer struck Spidergum in the side of the head as both teams lined up to receive their trophies, knocking the regnum4games player’s glasses to the floor in front of a live audience and stream viewers.

The incident, which took place on 19 April, has been reported to the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC), opening the door to a far broader suspension across the wider competitive Counter-Strike 2 circuit. Tournament organisers acted within hours, and Spidergum’s organisation has confirmed it is providing legal support, suggesting this story is far from over.

What Happened On Stage At CAGGTUS Leipzig

The CAGGTUS Leipzig CS2 grand final saw regnum4games, also competing under the Legends Lobby banner, defeat MAUschine’s team to take the title for a second consecutive year. With the result settled, players from both sides walked on stage for the standard trophy presentation.

As Spidergum took his place beside his teammates, MAUschine stepped across the line and threw a punch into the side of his opponent’s head. Spidergum was visibly stunned, his glasses flew off, and the host immediately called for MAUschine to be removed from the stage. Clips of the moment spread across X within minutes, with the footage showing no warning, no shoving match, and no verbal exchange directly before the strike.

The 10-Year Ban From DACH CS Masters

DACH CS Masters issued its ruling shortly after the event wrapped, confirming a suspension of at least 10 years and noting the case had been escalated to ESIC. The organiser’s statement, posted in German on X, was blunt about its position on physical violence at LAN events.

We do not tolerate physical assaults against other players at LAN and have acted accordingly. MAUschine is banned for at least 10 years and the incident has additionally been reported to ESIC. In case it wasn’t clear, we think violence has no place in our league.

The “at least 10 years” framing is worth noting. It leaves room for the ban to be extended depending on what ESIC concludes, and an ESIC ruling could carry weight across other tournament circuits that recognise its sanctions, not just within DACH’s own events.

What Reportedly Triggered The Punch

The trigger appears to trace back to the previous day’s play. During the first map of the final, Spidergum reportedly mimicked or quoted MAUschine on stream after a clutch round, with one widely shared account on X identifying the line as “papi chulo,” said to be a MAUschine catchphrase.

By every account from those involved, the trash talk itself was mild. Regnum4games, in its own statement, said MAUschine had reacted strongly at the time and had threatened physical violence toward Spidergum well before the awards ceremony. That threat, according to the org, escalated into the punch a day later.

Regnum4games Confirms Legal Support For Spidergum

Spidergum’s organisation, regnum4games, condemned the attack and confirmed it would back its player through any legal process that follows. The org said it had spoken with Spidergum and his team to check on his welfare immediately after the incident, and praised DACH CS Masters for moving quickly on the suspension.

It also called on CAGGTUS Leipzig itself, the event venue and broader convention organiser, to take additional action beyond the tournament-level ban. The org’s wider point was that the German esports scene needs consistent enforcement against any form of physical violence at events, not just one-off punishments after the fact.

Spidergum’s Response

Spidergum responded publicly with humour, posting on X that he had “experienced everything” as a back-to-back CAGGTUS CS2 winner and joking that MAUschine’s punch was a better shot than his AWP work, “especially on stream.” The post quickly racked up engagement and helped take some of the heat out of the moment online.

That public lightness has not closed the door on legal action, though. When a commenter suggested he report MAUschine to police, Spidergum replied that they were right, and his organisation has since confirmed it is preparing to support him through any formal complaint.

Where The Case Goes From Here

Three threads are now running in parallel. The DACH CS Masters ban is in effect immediately and locks MAUschine out of its events for at least a decade. ESIC’s review could extend that ban across partnered leagues and tournaments, which would functionally end MAUschine’s competitive career in Counter-Strike 2. And any criminal complaint filed in Germany would sit outside the esports system entirely.

Physical altercations at CS2 LAN events are exceedingly rare, and the speed and severity of the response from DACH suggests organisers are keen to set a clear precedent before this becomes a pattern others test. For a semi-pro scene that has spent years pushing for greater professionalism around player conduct, the next move belongs to ESIC.
