PGL has officially revealed that the second Counter-Strike 2 Major of 2026 will take place in Singapore, running from 25 November to 13 December. The event will bring together 32 of the world’s best teams for a season-ending showdown, with a prize pool of 1.25 million US dollars on the line.

The Singapore Major is more than just another stop on the competitive calendar, it marks the first time a Counter-Strike Major will be held in Southeast Asia, giving the region a moment that fans have been waiting years to see.

Three Stages, One Champion

The Major will unfold across three stages before heading to the 12,000 capacity Singapore Indoor Stadium for the final four days of playoffs. The arena, well known for hosting top esports events such as The International and BLAST Slam IV, will once again become home to a massive crowd of passionate fans.

The tournament will conclude with a best of five grand final, where one team will lift the Major trophy in front of a packed stadium.

PGL has confirmed its continued focus on fair play, broadcast quality, and a viewing experience that keeps both fans and players at the centre of the action.

A New Era For Counter-Strike In Southeast Asia

This event represents a historic milestone. Following the Perfect World Shanghai Major in 2024, Singapore now becomes the next Asian destination to host Counter-Strike’s most prestigious tournament. The move signals a clear effort to expand the global footprint of CS2 beyond Europe and North America.

PGL has a long track record of hosting landmark events, including Krakow, Stockholm, Antwerp, and Copenhagen. The Singapore Major becomes the studio’s fifth CS Major, and its fifth major esports event held in Singapore after tournaments such as the DOTA 2 Singapore Major and The International 2022.

For the region, the 2026 Major is both a celebration and an opportunity. With esports increasingly recognised within Singapore’s national sporting framework, the country is positioning itself as a world-class destination for competitive gaming.

Introducing Full Best Of Three Matches

One of the most significant format changes is that all group stage matches, beginning with the Challengers Stage, will now be played as best of three. This shifts away from the previous mix of BO1 and BO3, reducing randomness and placing more emphasis on preparation and map strategy.

The updated schedule adds extra days to accommodate the expanded match format, helping teams avoid overload and ensuring competitive fairness across all stages. Fans can expect longer, more tactical series that highlight the full depth of Counter-Strike gameplay.

The Road To The Grand Final

Across the 19-day event, 32 teams will battle through the Valve Regional Standings system for the chance to earn one of the biggest achievements in esports. The path ends with a champion crowned in Singapore, closing the 2026 CS2 season.

PGL’s previous Majors rank among the most watched in Counter-Strike history, and with Southeast Asia hosting for the first time, the Singapore Major is poised to become another standout moment.
