The Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final are scheduled for February 28 and March 1, where the LCK Cup champion will be crowned and the final teams will secure qualification for the First Stand tournament.

LCK Heads Overseas For The First Time

Since its debut, the League of Legends Champions Korea has held all competitions domestically, even as its global audience steadily grew. While recent seasons featured roadshow events across Korea, including matches in Busan, Incheon, and Suwon, the 2026 LCK Cup Finals represent the league’s first full international roadshow.

According to the LCK, Hong Kong was selected for its travel accessibility and modern event infrastructure, making it an ideal destination for fans across Asia and beyond to attend an LCK marquee event in person.

Kai Tak Arena Set To Host Finals Weekend

The finals will take place at Kai Tak Arena, a newly opened indoor venue located within the Kai Tak Sports Park on the site of Hong Kong’s former airport. Opened in 2025, the arena has a seating capacity of around 10,000 and features modern broadcast and production facilities designed for large-scale international events.

The venue has already hosted major sports competitions and concerts, positioning it as a key destination for global esports events moving forward.

Dates, Tickets, And Fan Activities

The Lower Bracket Final will be played on Friday, February 28, followed by the Grand Final on Saturday, March 1. Ticket sales will begin with a presale for Paycool credit card holders at 11am KST on January 29, with general sales opening at the same time on January 30 through Damai and HK Ticketing.

Fans attending the event can also expect on-site attractions, including official merchandise, team booths, and sponsor activations throughout the finals weekend.

LCK Cup 2026 Reaches Critical Stage

The 2026 LCK Cup is currently approaching the end of its group stage, with only one week of matches remaining. Both the Baron and Elder groups are tightly contested, with Gen.G and T1 leading the standings at 4–0, while Dplus KIA currently top the opposite group at 3–1.

The upcoming Super Week will feature a single BO5 per team and award two points instead of one, a format that could significantly reshape the standings ahead of the Play-In round scheduled for February 6 to 8. The double-elimination playoffs will then run from February 12 to 22, culminating in the Hong Kong finals.

A Key Step In LCK’s Global Expansion

With LCK teams having won the League of Legends World Championship ten times, more than any other region, the league has long commanded a massive international following. Hosting the 2026 LCK Cup Finals in Hong Kong signals a clear intent to bring the competition closer to its overseas audience and test the waters for future international events.

If successful, the Hong Kong roadshow could set a precedent for more LCK matches outside Korea in future seasons, reshaping how fans around the world experience one of esports’ most prestigious leagues.

The organisation confirmed the move on social media, with early access registration now live via crowdfunding platform Crowdcube, and the investment round expected to begin in the coming days. Entry is set at a relatively low level, allowing supporters to invest from just a few dozen dollars.

A First for the Unicorns of Love Community

According to the announcement, this marks the first time Unicorns of Love has offered an equity stake in the organisation to the public. The club framed the decision as a way to deepen its long standing connection with fans, many of whom have followed the team since its early amateur days.

“It all started with five amateur players, a crazy name, and even crazier picks,” the organisation said. “For the first time, we’re opening up to the community and offering up to 11 percent of the company to those who helped build this journey. We want you to own a real stake in our future.”

While the funding round has yet to officially open, Unicorns of Love has not disclosed how much capital it is aiming to raise.

From EU LCS Fan Favourites to Prime League Contenders

Founded in 2014, Unicorns of Love quickly became one of Europe’s most recognisable League of Legends teams. The organisation earned promotion to the EU LCS in 2015 and built a reputation for bold drafts and entertaining play, finishing runners up in the Spring splits of both 2015 and 2017.

That early roster featured players who would go on to become household names, including Tristan ‘PowerOfEvil’ Schrage, Zdravets ‘Hylissang’ Galabov and Tamás ‘Vizicsacsi’ Kiss. Despite its popularity, the organisation was not selected as a franchise partner when Riot Games launched the LEC in 2019.

Since then, Unicorns of Love has remained active across the League of Legends ecosystem, competing in the LCL before returning its focus to Germany’s Prime League. Highlights from this period include qualification for three League of Legends World Championships between 2019 and 2021, as well as Prime League titles in Summer 2022, Spring 2023 and Summer 2024.

More recently, the team came close to a return to the top tier after a strong EMEA Masters run, though it ultimately fell short of securing a place in the new LEC Versus event for 2026.

Esports and the Rise of Fan Investment

Unicorns of Love is not alone in turning to fan driven funding models. Back in 2020, UK based organisation Fnatic ran a successful Crowdcube campaign, raising around $2 million from roughly 3,500 contributors after opening a portion of the business to public investment.

More recently, North American organisation Sentinels raised close to $200,000 through a StartEngine campaign, highlighting a growing trend of esports teams exploring alternative funding routes beyond traditional investors.

For Unicorns of Love, the move represents both a financial opportunity and a symbolic step, reinforcing its identity as a community driven organisation at a time when its competitive ambitions are once again on the rise.

The global esports landscape in 2025 was shaped by three familiar giants, League of Legends, Counter-Strike and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. When viewership across all major tournaments and platforms is combined, the results paint a clear picture of where fans spent their time this year.

According to aggregated livestream data published by Esports Charts, the most-watched esports teams of 2025 once again came from these dominant ecosystems. PC, console and mobile titles all sit side by side in the same rankings, creating a far tougher comparison than game-specific lists. Battle royale titles and Chinese streaming platforms were excluded from the data.

While the top spot remained unchanged, the rest of the leaderboard saw noticeable movement, especially from Counter-Strike, which matched League of Legends with four teams inside the top 10 for the first time in years.

Korean League of Legends teams set the pace

For the fourth year running, T1 finished 2025 as the most-watched esports team in the world. The Korean organisation generated just over 196 million hours watched, outperforming second place by roughly 65 percent.

What makes T1’s dominance even more remarkable is how uneven their domestic season was. In the LCK regular season, fourth place was their highest finish. Once again though, T1 delivered when it mattered most. At the League of Legends World Championship, they powered through the tournament from its earliest stage and secured a third consecutive Worlds title, cementing their reputation as the ultimate big-match team.

Behind them, Korean League of Legends remained heavily represented. Gen.G claimed second place overall after another highly consistent year, winning the LCK Season, the Mid-Season Invitational and the Esports World Cup. Their run ended in familiar fashion at Worlds, falling to T1 in the semifinals.

Further down the list, Hanwha Life Esports placed sixth after a fast start to the year that included lifting the LCK Cup 2025 and winning their first international title at the First Stand Tournament. KT Rolster rounded out the Korean contingent in seventh, boosted by a surprise run to the Worlds grand final that significantly lifted their overall viewership.

ONIC overtake RRQ in Mobile Legends viewership

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang once again proved its global pulling power, especially in Southeast Asia. Two Indonesian teams finished inside the top four overall, underlining Indonesia’s status as the core market for MLBB esports, where major events regularly attract millions of concurrent viewers.

The highest-ranked MLBB team of 2025 was ONIC Esports, who finished third overall. ONIC enjoyed a flawless domestic year, winning both MPL Indonesia Season 15 and Season 16. Internationally, they remained competitive, placing fourth at the MLBB Mid Season Cup 2025 and reaching the later stages of several Snapdragon-sponsored events.

In a rare shift at the top of the MLBB scene, RRQ Hoshi finished just behind ONIC in fourth place. Despite remaining one of the most recognisable brands in mobile esports, RRQ struggled to turn popularity into trophies. Their strongest results came early in the year with runner-up finishes at MPL Indonesia Season 15 and the ESL Snapdragon Pro Series: Mobile Masters 2025.

The second half of the season was tougher. RRQ placed 5th to 8th at the MLBB Mid Season Cup and failed to reach the playoffs in MPL Indonesia Season 16. The dip in results ultimately saw them overtaken by their domestic rivals in total hours watched.

Counter-Strike sees a new hierarchy emerge

Counter-Strike enjoyed a major resurgence in the 2025 rankings, matching League of Legends with four teams inside the top 10. The highest-ranked CS team was Team Vitality, finishing fifth overall.

Vitality delivered one of the greatest seasons in Counter-Strike history. The team won back-to-back Majors, lifted nine tier-one trophies and consistently reached the latter stages of elite events. From a viewership perspective, it marked the strongest overall performance for a Counter-Strike team since NAVI’s peak in 2021.

Team Spirit enjoyed a solid season with several trophies and regular playoff appearances, but frequent roster changes disrupted their consistency. MOUZ, meanwhile, produced one of their strongest years in recent memory, stacking top-four finishes and looking increasingly well-balanced after the arrival of Lotan “Spinx” Giladi. Team Falcons remained one of the most closely watched projects in Counter-Strike, showing clear progress despite falling short of major titles.

What the rankings tell us about esports in 2025

The 2025 rankings underline a familiar truth. A handful of blockbuster titles continue to dominate global attention, with League of Legends, Counter-Strike and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang accounting for the vast majority of viewership. At the same time, the movement inside the top 10 shows that competitive success, roster stability and regional fanbases all play a critical role in shaping esports popularity.

As 2026 approaches, the gap at the very top remains steep, but the chasing pack is closer than ever.

What is LEC Versus?

LEC Versus is a new 12 team invitational tournament that opens the 2026 LEC season. Alongside all ten partnered LEC teams, Riot Games has invited two EMEA Regional League teams, Los Ratones and Karmine Corp Blue, giving tier two squads a rare chance to test themselves against Europe’s best.

With its own identity, unique trophy, and a compact, high intensity structure, LEC Versus is designed to deliver constant action in the lead up to the season’s first international event, First Stand.

All teams competing at LEC Versus 2026

The tournament brings together a full mix of established giants and hungry challengers.

LEC teams

G2 Esports

For Los Ratones and Karmine Corp Blue, this is their only opportunity to face every LEC roster on a tier one stage, making every match count.

LEC Versus format explained

Single round robin stage

LEC Versus begins on January 17 with a single round robin of best of one matches, where every team plays each other once. This format allows fans to see every possible matchup, while keeping the schedule tight ahead of First Stand.

Each game day will feature six matches, the highest daily match count ever seen in the LEC. With new rosters across the league, teams will be under immediate pressure to adapt, opening the door for surprise upsets and early rivalries.

Playoffs and qualification

After four weeks of round robin play, the top eight teams advance to the playoffs.

The playoff stage uses a double elimination bracket:

Rounds 1 and 2 are best of threes

All remaining matches are best of fives

Only one team will emerge as champion and claim EMEA’s sole spot at First Stand, the first international tournament of the 2026 season, set to take place in São Paulo, Brazil.

All matches will be played live at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, with every match day starting at 17:00 CET, whether it’s the group stage or playoffs.

BLG Reload for 2026 After a Disappointing Worlds Run

BiliBili Gaming have confirmed two of the biggest moves of the LPL offseason, reuniting with Peng Xun Li-xun in the jungle and securing Korean AD carry Park Viper Do-hyeon for the new season.

【BLG Personnel Change Announcement】

We are delighted to announce that Xun has officially joined BLG.

We look forward to rebuilding our synergy and writing a new chapter together over the next two years.

What a BEAST! pic.twitter.com/bufHzb2Moh

— LPL Fanclub (@LPLfanclub) December 1, 2025

The changes come after a strange 2025 run for BLG. The team won the LPL’s third split and entered Worlds 2025 as China’s first seed, only to crash out early in the Swiss Stage. It was one of the most surprising downfalls of the year and, clearly, a turning point for the organisation.

For 2026, BLG are resetting the blueprint, rebuilding around stability in top, mid, and support, and adding two proven heavy hitters.

Xun Returns Home After a Rocky Year at JDG

Xun is coming back to BLG after a short stint with JD Gaming in 2025. While JDG struggled to find form and ultimately missed Worlds qualification, Xun remained one of their brightest performers, showing the proactive, tempo-focused style that made him one of the best junglers in China.

His read of the map and knack for building leads from tiny openings have always been his signature strengths. At BLG, he reunites with teammates who know how to play around his pacing, and the team are confident he can bring back the consistency they lacked last year.

BLG previously picked up former LEC jungler Shad0w as well, and although rumours suggest some possible rotation in the role, Xun has been confirmed as the starting jungler heading into the 2026 season.

Viper Joins BLG in One of the Biggest Offseason Signings

The other headline move is Viper, who leaves Hanwha Life Esports after three years and returns to the LPL in search of another world title. With Gumayusi signing for HLE and top LCK teams already locked in, the Korean superstar had limited options in his home region, making BLG the most enticing destination.

Viper replaces Zhao Elk Jia-Hao, who is expected to join Weibo Gaming. On paper, it is a long-term upgrade. Viper brings a huge champion pool, safe but deadly late-game play, and a proven ability to carry on the international stage. His partnership with ON will be the key factor, with the duo expected to become a major threat in both lane and teamfights.

A Proven Champion Chasing Glory Again

Viper has one of the most impressive career arcs in modern League of Legends. After debuting with Griffin and shaking up the LCK in 2018, he moved to EDward Gaming and delivered a legendary 2021 season, claiming MVP awards, the LPL title, and the Worlds trophy.

His return to Korea in 2022 led to several strong results with HLE, including the 2024 LCK Summer title, the 2025 LCK Cup, and consecutive Worlds quarterfinals. But despite consistent top finishes, international success has been out of reach in recent years.

With BLG, Viper wants a repeat of 2021. His agency Shadow Corporation said he accepted lower conditions than past years because he genuinely wanted to challenge himself again and grow as a player.

BLG’s Full 2026 Roster Looks Stacked

Alongside Xun and Viper, BLG have confirmed long-term contract extensions for both mid laner Knight and support ON through 2027. Star top laner Bin is also expected to remain with the team.

The 2026 lineup is shaping up as:

Top: Bin

Jungle: Xun

Mid: Knight

ADC: Viper

Support: ON

It is one of the most balanced rosters in the LPL and a clear signal that BLG are done experimenting with fully domestic lineups. The organisation came close to lifting the Summoner’s Cup at the end of 2024, but since then, Chinese teams have struggled to keep up with their LCK rivals. Bringing in an international superstar like Viper shows BLG are done playing it safe.

Can This Lineup Bring BLG Back to the Top?

BLG’s early exit at Worlds 2025 was a shock, but the team’s response has been bold. With Knight and Bin as lane powerhouses, ON as their glue in support, Xun driving early-game proactivity, and Viper anchoring late-game fights, BLG have the pieces to compete for both the LPL title and a deep international run.

Now all eyes are on synergy. If the team gels the way it did in its peak years, BLG could easily return to being one of China’s strongest contenders for Worlds 2026.

A New Kind of Worlds Spectacle

Riot Games has announced that Anyma, the visionary electronic artist and solo project of Matteo Milleri, will take the stage as both Co-Creative Director and performer for the League of Legends Worlds 2025 Opening Ceremony. The highly anticipated show will stream live on Sunday, November 9, right before the Grand Finals kick off in Chengdu, China.

Fans can tune in to the official LoL Esports channels on YouTube and Twitch to catch the full performance, which promises to blend futuristic visuals, immersive art, and live music in a way only Riot’s creative team can pull off.

Techno Meets Esports

Anyma is no stranger to pushing artistic boundaries. Known for fusing high-energy techno music with digital art and surreal live visuals, the artist has built a reputation for creating performances that blur the line between reality and the virtual world. This makes him a natural fit for League of Legends, a game that thrives on spectacle, story, and atmosphere.

Joining Anyma on stage is acclaimed Hong Kong singer-songwriter G.E.M., who will perform “Sacrifice” — the official anthem for Worlds 2025. The song marks a major milestone for Riot Games, celebrating the 15th anniversary of League of Legends esports.

Carrying On a Legendary Tradition

Each year, the Worlds Opening Ceremony raises the bar for live production in gaming. From Imagine Dragons’ “Warriors” (2014) to Rise (2018) and Lil Nas X’s “Star Walkin’” (2022), these anthems have become cultural moments that unite fans across the globe.

With Anyma’s innovative visuals and G.E.M.’s soaring vocals, this year’s performance is expected to deliver a futuristic blend of sound and storytelling, one that reflects both the evolution of League of Legends and its global community.

Worlds 2025: The Road to the Grand Finals

The League of Legends World Championship 2025, or simply Worlds 2025, is the crown jewel of the competitive LoL season. Seventeen of the best teams from around the world have been battling since mid-October for a share of the $1 million prize pool.

Now, only a handful remain in contention. Gen.G Esports and KT Rolster are set to face off for a spot in the Grand Finals, while Anyone’s Legend will clash with defending champions T1 for a chance to meet Top Esports in the semi-finals.

With the stakes higher than ever, the November 9 Opening Ceremony will serve as both a celebration and a prelude to the ultimate showdown.

How to Watch

Fans worldwide can watch the League of Legends Worlds 2025 Opening Ceremony live via LoLEsports.com, or through the official League of Legends Esports channels on YouTube and Twitch.

Whether you’re tuning in for the esports action or the music spectacle, this year’s Worlds promises to be one for the history books.

Riot Games has officially confirmed the addition of a new tournament called LEC Versus, replacing the traditional Winter Split, alongside a unified structure for the Spring and Summer Splits.

The changes promise more action, consistent scheduling, and a greater connection between the LEC and EMEA Regional Leagues (ERLs).

A New Year Begins with LEC Versus

Starting in early 2026, the LEC will open its season with LEC Versus, a new invitational-style tournament that brings together all 10 LEC partner teams and two guest squads from the EMEA Regional Leagues.

Replacing the Winter Split, LEC Versus will feature a 12-team Single Round Robin with best-of-one matches. The top eight teams will advance to a double-elimination playoff, with early rounds played as best-of-threes and the later stages as best-of-fives.

At stake is not a spot in the LEC itself, but something even more prestigious — the winner will qualify for the international event First Stand, marking the first major cross-regional showdown of the year.

“Expect fan-favourite formats, high-impact competition, and new storylines filled with energy, passion, and moments that will have you glued to the edge of your seat,” Riot teased in its official announcement.

ERL Teams Step Into the Spotlight

One of the most exciting aspects of LEC Versus is the inclusion of two ERL teams, giving regional squads a rare chance to compete on the biggest stage in EMEA.

The first invitation goes to the 2025 EMEA Masters Summer Champion, while the second is awarded to a team recognised for its consistent, standout performance across the entire 2025 season. For the 2026 edition, Riot has already confirmed that Los Ratones, the back-to-back EMEA Masters champions and dominant force in the NLC, will take one of the two guest slots.

“These aren’t LEC spots, but special invitations earned through competitive excellence within the ERL ecosystem,” Riot explained. “It’s an opportunity for the best regional teams to prove themselves against EMEA’s elite.”

While these invited squads won’t share the same financial benefits as franchised teams, such as revenue sharing from sponsorships and media rights, Riot will provide a participation stipend to help cover expenses like travel, accommodation, and staff support.

To preserve roster integrity, each invited team must retain at least three of their original EMEA Masters players, though the LEC reserves the right to grant exceptions in special cases.

Spring and Summer Get a Unified Format

After experimenting with multiple formats in 2025, the LEC will standardise its Spring and Summer Splits in 2026. Both will now follow an identical competitive layout:

Single Round Robin featuring best-of-three series

Top six teams advance to best-of-five playoffs

This move ensures consistency for both players and fans, reducing confusion and allowing Riot to plan more LEC Roadtrips, live events hosted in different European cities throughout the year.

Riot confirmed that two teams from Spring will qualify for the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), while three teams from Summer will advance to the World Championship (Worlds).

“Delivering a consistent format and predictable schedule for both the Spring and Summer Splits will enable more LEC Roadtrips and bring fans more competition,” Riot said.

The Return of LEC Roadtrips

LEC Roadtrips were a major highlight of 2025, with events hosted by organisations like Movistar KOI and Karmine Corp drawing huge crowds and online engagement. Riot has confirmed the initiative will return and expand in 2026, bringing even more cities and fans into the fold.

Further details, including locations and ticket sales, will be announced on LoLEsports.com and the official LEC social media channels later this year.

A Stronger, More Connected EMEA

The 2026 LEC season reflects Riot’s ongoing effort to strengthen ties between its professional and regional leagues while keeping the competition fresh and unpredictable.

By inviting ERL champions to face off against LEC giants like G2 Esports, Fnatic, and Karmine Corp, the new format gives fans a taste of grassroots talent going head-to-head with Europe’s best.

With LEC Versus setting the tone for the year and unified formats across Spring and Summer, 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting seasons yet in the history of European League of Legends.

From the Turkish Circuit to the Top Flight

Rhilech’s rise to the LEC has been a story of discipline and perseverance. Starting his career in 2020, he competed in the Turkish Academy League with SuperMassive Blaze Academy and Aurora Academy, where he quickly established himself as a reliable and aggressive jungler.

In 2022, he transitioned to Italy’s Proving Grounds circuit with DSYRE Esports, showcasing his skill across multiple European Regional Leagues (ERLs). Over the next few years, he gained valuable experience competing in the PG Nationals and Ligue Française de League of Legends (LFL).

Rhilech’s breakout moment came during the 2024–2025 season with BK ROG Esports, where he lifted the LFL 2025 Spring Playoffs title and secured a top-four finish at the EMEA Masters Spring 2025. His performance earned him MVP honours and recognition as one of Europe’s most promising young junglers.

Reflecting on his journey in NAVI’s profile video, Rhilech said, “From TC Academy to LEC, the only reason I got here is me being disciplined. I can’t wait for people to watch me at LEC.”

NAVI’s Road to Rebuilding

NAVI entered the LEC in late 2024 after acquiring Rogue’s franchise slot, marking its return to top-level League of Legends after an eight-year hiatus. Their debut in the 2025 Summer Split featured a roster including Adam “Adam” Maanane, Francisco “Thayger” Mazo, Emil “Larssen” Larsson, Lee “Hans SamD” Jae-hoon, and Kim “Malrang” Geun-seong.

Despite the team’s strong potential, NAVI finished fifth in Group A with a 0–4 record, prompting a major off-season rebuild. Soon after, NAVI thanked jungler Thayger for his contributions and announced he was free to explore new opportunities.

Rhilech’s signing represents the first major change as NAVI looks to refine its identity in the LEC and build a more cohesive lineup for 2026.

A New Chapter for a Legendary Organisation

Founded in 2009, Natus Vincere is one of esports’ most iconic organisations, with championship pedigree across multiple titles including Counter-Strike, Dota 2, and Rainbow Six Siege. The team’s move to invest in fresh League of Legends talent signals its determination to establish a long-term presence in the LEC.

Fans and fellow pros have shown support for the move, with NAVI’s own players and the European community congratulating Rhilech online. Fellow NAVI player SoMarcus wrote, “Welcome bro,” while others called the signing “awesome content” and predicted that “he’s going to explode in 2026.”

With Rhilech now officially joining, NAVI appears ready to rebuild around youthful energy and fresh ambition, hoping to turn its LEC project into one worthy of its storied legacy.

The 2025 League of Legends World Championship has officially found its voice, and it’s one that echoes across the stars. Riot Games has released this year’s Worlds anthem, “Sacrifice,” performed by Hong Kong pop sensation G.E.M., just ahead of the tournament’s kickoff.

Marking the 15th anniversary of LoL Esports, “Sacrifice” celebrates the dedication, legacy, and passion that define both the game and its global community. The cinematic music video, which premiered on Monday, takes fans on a breathtaking journey through space, blending stunning visuals with a heartfelt story about what it means to give everything for the love of competition.

A Cosmic Tribute to Legends

Set among constellations and cosmic dust, “Sacrifice” reimagines some of the most iconic moments in League of Legends history. From Faker’s legendary Azir shuffle and TheShy’s devastating Aatrox plays to Caps’ unforgettable “illegal” Ashe arrow steal, the video immortalises the plays that shaped a decade of esports greatness.

Beyond the players, the video also shines a light on fans, coaches, and broadcast talent who’ve carried the scene for 15 years. One of the most emotional moments comes as Maciej “Shushei” Ratuszniak, the late Fnatic player who won the first-ever Worlds in 2011, is shown lifting the Summoner’s Cup one last time, a poignant tribute to his legacy and the history he helped create.

The song itself brings back the emotional depth of past anthems like “Legends Never Die” and “Phoenix.” G.E.M.’s soaring vocals intertwine with orchestral elements to deliver a sound that’s both epic and deeply personal. Riot’s Global Head of Music, Maria Edgan, said G.E.M. was chosen deliberately as Worlds returns to China, describing her as “a superstar who deserved the biggest stage possible.”

As the 2025 League of Legends World Championship begins, “Sacrifice” stands as both a love letter and a rallying cry, a reminder that every great story in esports starts with passion, perseverance, and yes, a little bit of sacrifice.

The win locks BLG in as the LPL’s top seed for Worlds 2025, completing a remarkable comeback split for the organisation.

A clash worthy of the finals

With both sides already carrying high stakes, the series opened with TES striking first. They capitalised on Elk’s early mistakes, building momentum around the Ocean Soul to take game one. BLG, however, responded by subbing in Zhao “Shad0w” Zhi-Qiang in the jungle. The move instantly paid off. Supported by Bin’s incredible 1v2 play in the top lane, BLG stormed back to level the series with a dominant 27-minute win.

Give BIN the MVP already 😎 pic.twitter.com/oiQptq5ups

Game three saw TES lean on their strong top-side draft of Renekton and Zed. They combined this with Cassiopeia and Corki to secure match point after a Baron-powered push down mid. Facing elimination, BLG went all-in on an aggressive Caitlyn-Elise bot lane in game four. Their gamble paid off, dismantling TES with a brutal 32–7 scoreline against JackeyLove’s Draven, forcing the series to Silver Scrapes.

In the decider, BLG pulled ahead during a chaotic eight-man skirmish in mid. Despite TES fighting tooth and nail to stay even, Knight’s Akali flank tore through TES’ carries. With superior teamfighting and a 5k gold lead, BLG closed it out to claim their first championship of the year.

BLG’s comeback story

This title marks a dramatic turnaround for BLG, who had struggled at both the Mid-Season Invitational and the Esports World Cup earlier in the year. The arrival of Shad0w has been key, with BLG frequently rotating between him and Beichuan depending on the draft. That flexibility has turned the team from shaky to championship-ready in just one split.

While doubts remain over the LPL’s strength compared to other regions heading into Worlds, BLG’s resurgence suggests they could repeat their deep run from 2024.

Worlds seeding locked in

With BLG securing the LPL’s #1 seed, Anyone’s Legend (AL) are locked in as the second seed thanks to their accumulated championship points. AL have had a tougher split, but their direct path into the Worlds Swiss Stage is a much-needed relief.

For TES, the road gets harder. They now head into the LPL Regional Finals alongside Invictus Gaming, JD Gaming, and Weibo Gaming. Only the winner is guaranteed a spot at Worlds, while the runner-up must battle reigning world champions T1 in the play-in stage, a nightmare scenario for any team desperate to qualify.
