For this review STG received two twin packs of x16GB (64GB in total) and the installation was carried out on a DDR5 compatible motherboard, the ASUS Prime Z690-A.

Taking out the existing DDR4 32GB and replacing with Fury Renegade DDR5 was easy as, and asides from the Bios recognising the change all was failry seamless.

It was straight in to putting the Fury Renegade DDR5 through its potential.

Designed for overclocking and extreme performance, gaming was no match for the newly installed RAM.

At 64GB I found that most games only consumed around 10 to 17GB at the higher end, which left alot of room for super multi-tasking. I could infact have a game running on one screen and render out a 4K 20 minute video at the same time on another monitor.

Sure processing power is required too – the Intel i7 12th Gen on this test PC didn’t choke and the Fury Renegade RAM handled the load like a pro.

The Fury Renegade DDR5 is super fast. Coming in at 6400 MT/s you may not experience the full tilt, but you’ll get close to it, depending on your activity and what you throw at it of course.

Kingston have really built a powerhouse set with the Fury Renegade DDR5, so much so that depending on your setup you may find other components lag behind your installed RAM.

Excellent not only for high-end games, content creators and RIG kitters should look at this set as well, if not for the performance, for the RGB effects, which you can also set up sync with.

If you’re like me, you’ll likely have a lengthy games list in your PC library – but have to uninstall one or maybe two in order to install a new one. A vicious cycle of needing to go through the time and patience of picking and choosing.

STG received one of their FURY Renegade 2TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe M.2 SSD’s and I installed in a capable motherboard as a secondary drive.

(Note: Make sure your motherboard or gaming laptop is compatible first and if your device is still under warranty we advise that you get a certified professional to install any new hardware).

With a listed 7,300mbps read and 7,000mbps write I wanted to test out how the Fury Renegade could cope with simple read/write with larger folders.

A 600GB folder with 4K video from an already internal SSD transferred to the FURY Renegade saw speeds of up to 481mbps.

Given that the bottle neck was likely from the internal SSD, this was a surprise as the FURY Renegade syphoned the data.

Then using Adobe Premier to write (output) a test 4K video of 22 minutes, it took no time at all. Export finishing in less than 2 minutes.

This proves to me that the FURY Renegade 2TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe M.2 SSD is just as excellent for serious content creators as it is for gaming.

Now back to games.

Lag, jitters and stutters during gameplay or high action moments can be caused by a few things. Graphics card (GC), RAM (memory) and processor capabilities. Your storage drive can also be a culprit.

Borderlands 3 suffered none of the above and upon initial game load, there was hardly any load to speak of – infact reinstalling the game from Steam was alot faster than I was used to (approx. around 3 minutes), my local telco’s bandwidth being the foot dragger.

Borderlands played beautifully, as hoped.

Forza Horizon 5 from Microsoft Store saw the same bandwidth slowdown, but the FURY Renegade 2TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe M.2 SSD was installing as fast as it could get get the data from the cloud.

This one saw a few graphical stutters – this ended up being due to the GC. Once I’d toned down the graphics settings a bit all was sweet.

Call of Duty Vanguard was flawless.

Whatsmore the FURY Renegade 2TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe M.2 SSD remains cool and calm throughout.

Kingston’s FURY Renegade 2TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe M.2 SSD is absolutely more than capable of handling anything you run on it – likely, as in my case, other hardware may struggle to keep up.

This is the SSD you need to look at for a serious upgrade – but when compared with other PCIe NVMe SSD’s out there, the FURY Renegade is on the pricier side. It’s expensive.

Still even though you’re paying a premium for the FURY Renegade 2TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe M.2 SSD you are getting a piece of premium hardware.

So if you’re building a Rig or looking to upgrade the internal storage of your gaming laptop, and price is not a factor, this is a strong contender to future proof and kit out your weapon of choice.

There is a saying that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

This is totally fitting for Darksiders third installment and it makes sense that Fury is a kick-ass female.

The more rebellious and less caring of the Four Horsemen, Fury doesn’t care too much for the human race. And she makes that known.

With War in chains, imprisoned by the Charred Council after being blamed for bringing about the Apocalypse. To top it off Death is missing so Fury is called upon to sort out the end of times mess. In this third chapter of the third person action title you take on the role of Fury. The Seven Deadly Sins have gone rogue and Fury is tasked with reigning them in.

But, beware of false prophets… Fury has an encounter with The Hollow Lord, an entity of immense power that can release both Demons and Angels from life to death. He warns Fury that she is being mislead by the Charred Council and is a pawn in a much larger plan.

This warning and theme is ever present throughout the narrative of the game.

It’s not too long in to the game where you encounter the first Boss; Envy. Don’t expect to be ushered in gently with Darksiders III. Envy was a challenge for sure. But, once defeated you gain Envy’s Talisman which you will need to trap the remaining Sins within it.

THQNordic and Gunfire Games have done a fantastic job of remaining true to the original series.

Game mechanics, while jazzed up for the new consoles graphically, follow the tried and true melee and platformer tropes.

The RPG and leveling up element has also been retained in this Darksiders chapter. Fury has a spiked whip and this can be upgraded, as can the basics, strength, resilience against damage and health across a skill tree, accessible when you encounter Vulgrim, a demon merchant.

Vulgrim spots also act as gateways and checkpoints, called Serpent Holes between varying areas of your current Level.

An agreement that Fury makes with Ulthane (the Blacksmith) you will be finding stray humans throughout the burned and destroyed lands and using a device called the Bridge, you will rescue them. Yep – you may not like them, but you want those weapon upgrades from Ulthane.

Enemies that Fury takes down and some environmental objects that can be destroyed release souls – these are exchanged with Vulgrim for the said upgrades. Aswell as souls there are Shards which offer up life, defense and might when in combat. Fury also has a power up ability whereby two shoulder buttons correspondingly pressed will activate a brief Fury mode, providing that the Fury meter is full. Extremely handy against bosses and bigger foes.

The ferocity of her ‘Fury’ is also dependent on your current character level.

Darksiders III is pure pleasure to play through. Gorgeous visuals and a rewarding and satisfying play. So much detail and creativity has gone in to this edition of the Darksiders Trilogy and is most noticed on the Sins, as you encounter them in Boss Fights.

For those new to the series, they aren’t going to feel lost by unleashing Fury on to their consoles, if they have not played the first two Darksiders titles. The backstory is laid out at the very start and is referenced throughout the entire game.

With a decent length of game time – Darksiders III is the absolute best in the series so far.
