Team Meat is proud to reveal that it’s long, long awaited sequel to 2010’s runaway platforming hit Super Meat Boy is finally nigh!

This much anticipated sequel also moves the Meat Boy saga forward, as Meat Boy and his partner Bandage Girl have had a child, Nugget, who has unfortunately been kidnapped by the sinister stillborn psychopath, Dr. Fetus (I hate that guy!). So now it’s up to Meat Boy, Bandage Girl, and some surprising new characters in the Meat Boy Cinematic Universe, to rescue the kidnapped child.

In the time since we saw him last, Meat Boy has been hitting the gym and he now packs a punch with an oversized, Battletoads-esque right fist that packs a mean whollup! Combined with new slide and plummet maneuvers, Meat Boy is more agile than ever!

Levels are randomly generated and each time the game is completed the option to replay the game appears and generates a whole new experience by presenting different levels with their own unique secret locations. It is truly a remarkable feat of engineering and a monumental example of ignoring the limits of rational game design and production.

A mysterious floating purple crystal. An adventurer whose biggest talent is clumsiness.

A Knight’s Quest sees you assume the role of a would-be hero Rusty, who after exploring a cave comes across a large crystal in the center of it.

Accidentally activating it the power within the giant gemstone unleashes. The crystal soars in to the sky as the cave and surrounding areas begin to crumble. Oops.

As if this wasn’t bad enough, the crystal awakens the dead…

A local village, headed by Mayor Munsch talks heralds his worried civilians with tales of three mythical Guardians that will be tasked with protecting everyone. A young girl, Valy, who aides Rusty is dubious as to whether the three Guardians have intentions other than their own – if they even exist.

Curve Digital  and Epic Games have likened their new adventure platformer to the Zelda games. It is… and it isn’t. It’s more of a fuse between Wonderboy and Zelda.

As Rusty’s adventures continue the game takes on a RPG-like element.

You will roam the vast lands and talk with other NPC’s. Make choices, gather info and collectibles and eventually gain powers which are assigned to hotkeys on the D-Pad.

A Knight’s Quest is a fun to play title and makes a wide use of platformer game tropes from the late 80’s and 90’s.

Run and jump, wall run (to the likes of Prince Persia games) and take down enemies in comical melee combat – actually, I misjudged the level of difficulty. A Knight’s Quest might look like a kiddies game – it certainly isn’t.

And this leads me in to the graphics of this one.

In short – somewhat outdated. Appearing more like a top budget PlayStation 2 title, A Knight’s Quest, although lavish with it’s environments, character modelling needs some detail. This said, I also feel as though that this may have been the look that the devs were going for – to be fair, this is a throwback game to older platformers.

A Knight’s Quest is an enjoyable play. A light narrative peppered with cheesy humour – it is a good chill out title and definitely one for retro gamers to pick up.

NVIDIA and Epic Games, Inc. today announced the addition of NVIDIA 3D Vision technology support to Unreal Engine 3.

This announcement means that licensees of the world’s most successful game engine will be able to take full advantage of integrated 3D Vision technology support and offer an unprecedented level of immersion in their upcoming games. Epic’s popular Unreal Development Kit (UDK), a free version of Unreal Engine 3, will also benefit from the addition of 3D Vision support, bringing a theater-quality 3D development platform to the more than 200,000 current users worldwide.

“Having the number one 3D engine on the planet embrace 3D Vision is fantastic news for UE3 licensees, UDK users and gamers,” says Tony Tamasi, vice president of content and technology at NVIDIA. “It’s now easier than ever to add state-of-the-art stereoscopic 3D effects to your Unreal Engine 3-based creations.”

“The combination of Unreal Engine 3 and 3D Vision makes already amazing games even more jaw dropping,” said Mark Rein, vice president at Epic Games. “If you haven’t seen Unreal Engine 3 in 3D, you won’t believe how realistic it is! We’re excited to offer this technology for free to our licensees and can’t wait to see what people create with it.”

Epic Games today announced to us at StG that Fortnite, its third-person Action Building game, will be available in paid Early Access for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac starting on July 25, 2017.

In Fortnite, players team up to build massive forts and battle against hordes of monsters, all while crafting and looting within giant worlds where no two games are ever the same. Epic Games debuted a new gameplay trailer today highlighting Fortnite’s unique mix of exploration, building, defense, and combat.

“Bringing Fortnite to life has been a true labor of love by a talented and dedicated team over many years,” says Darren Sugg, Creative Director on Fortnite. “We’re excited to share the experience and start playing along with more gamers in Early Access this summer.”

Fortnite Founders Packs give players entry to the Early Access Season, access to exclusive in-game events in 2017, and offers a huge value on stuff like Heroes, loot, weapons, and in-game boosts. Players who pre-order a Founder’s Pack will get a four-day head start beginning on July 21, 2017, along with the exclusive Storm Master Weapon Pack.

Additionally, Epic Games has partnered with Gearbox Publishing to distribute a boxed retail version of the game for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
