Starting today, players can embark on a mystery adventure with the free demo for Another Code: Recollection for Nintendo Switch.

The full game launches in January 2024, but players can get an early start to their sleuthing with a free demo available now in Nintendo eShop. The demo features the starting chapter of Another Code: Two Memories, the first of two games in Another Code: Recollection. The demo allows players to get an early start to their adventure and their progress will carry over to the full game.

In the demo, players will join Ashley – a young orphan – after she receives a letter from her father who she believed was dead. The letter sets off a chain of mysteries and leads her to the mysterious and remote Blood Edward Island in search of answers. You may catch a glimpse of the puzzling obstacles you’ll come across – but who, or what will you encounter on the other side?

Another Code: Recollection features two enhanced mystery adventures; Another Code: Two Memories and Another Code: Journey into Lost Memories. Uncover the past and find the hidden truth across both games, featuring overhauled visuals, fully explorable environments, new voice acting, puzzles and music. Optional hint and navigation systems have also been added to help players who want to have some help in solving the mysteries, and figuring out where to go and what to do next.

Independent game studio Jukai Studio and Versus Evil has released an all new Steam demo for their upcoming mystery-driven psychological horror game.

Dive into the mind of Daniel, a teenage boy who inherits a home from his estranged grandmother. As he moves in, Daniel meets the enigmatic Martha who knows more about the house than he would expect. As night falls, dark secrets hiding within the dwelling and Daniel’s past come out of the woodworks – secrets Daniel cannot seem to outrun…

The new demo begins with Daniel and Martha arriving outside the Aspen Falls police station, which is locked down tight. Players will explore the area in search of a way inside, but will encounter dark forces hellbent on keeping them out.

Stray Souls combines beloved elements of Japanese survival horror games with an array of new tricks, including a variety of randomized systems where enemy encounters, item placement, paranormal activity and even weather patterns are always changing so no two playthroughs are exactly the same. Using the power of Metahuman technology and Unreal Engine 5, characters and environments are authentically brought to life, throwing you straight into the dread and dismay of the narrative.

“We’re big fans of Japanese horror and Stray Souls is a love letter to everything we adore about the genre,” said Artur Łączkowski, Owner & Director at Jukai Studio. “It’s creepy in a psychological way, with nightmarish enemies enshrouded in dreary, foggy environments where everything is just a little off in some way. Stray Souls will launch later this year on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox Series consoles.

The 101XP publisher and Trinity Team studio have announced the release of the free The Darkest Tales demo.

The first grim chapter of this action platformer is out now on Steam, as part of the Steam Next Festival, and will be available from June 16 until June 22, 2021.

Join the stuffed bear Teddy on the somber quest to rescue his owner Alicia from the world of corrupted childhood dreams.

The Darkest Tales is an adventure full of familiar characters and watercolor landscapes that will repeatedly have players pondering over ambiguous life issues.

Prepare to meet your childhood favorites!

The reunion is unlikely to be a pleasant one, though: the gingerbread men are out for blood, the Sleeping Beauty appears to be a few centuries behind on her sleep schedule, and the Little Mermaid has come to resemble a sea witch rather than an innocent daughter of the ocean.

Meet Teddy Scissorpaws.

As it turns out, our stuffed knight is a jack-of-all-trades – repurposing a pair of scissors into a melee weapon as well as a bow that shoots sharp needles and serves as a makeshift grappling hook for bypassing deadly traps. Everything goes when you fight against pure evil!

Every level takes place in a twisted version of an easily recognizable fairy tale rife with combat, obstacles, and secrets. On this journey, you will have to get survival savvy, grow new branches on the old talent tree, and face a number of challenges — from fighting blood-thirsty rubber duckies to exploring the giant’s castle in the clouds.

The Darkest Tales is a game with a deep and enigmatic plot. Defeat monsters and uncover the mysteries of the world of nightmares.

Last Friday aired another information-packed Resident Evil Showcase program including new information on the upcoming highly anticipated survivor horror title Resident Evil Village.

In addition to a new trailer with gameplay footage featuring new enemies and areas of the mysterious village, Capcom confirmed the popular “The Mercenaries” game mode returns with added features in Resident Evil Village.

Capcom also confirmed details for the limited time demo coming to all platforms on May 2nd 2021 with PlayStation players getting early access available now. Celebrations marking the Resident Evil 25th anniversary this year also continued with new ways to experience the franchise across several content partners.

The latest trailer for Resident Evil Village pulls fans deeper into the enigmatic locale with a peek at the diversity of environments and enemies players will encounter.

New footage provided clues to an immense underground factory possibly mass producing humanoid creatures, and a vast man-made lake barely concealing what appears to be a colossal aquatic monster.

The mysterious man from the January Resident Evil Showcase is revealed to be Heisenberg. Though his name is now known, his role remains unclear in protagonist Ethan Winters’ quest to find his daughter. Series veteran Chris Redfield also makes an appearance with questionable motives, creating more mystery as to what his role is.

The heart-pounding action does not stop once Ethan’s story concludes.

The fan-favorite game mode, “The Mercenaries,” makes its much requested return with rich content and rewards, providing variety and replayability beyond the main gameplay in Resident Evil Village.

Players must complete increasingly challenging objectives before the clock runs out in this additional game mode, which is unlocked by completing the main campaign.

The Duke merchant from the main game appears in the mode, offering weapons and upgrades to help tackle the challenges. Additionally, players can acquire abilities that enhance their weapons or physical abilities. It will be up to each player to strategize which load out will be the most effective for each objective.

Intrepid players are invited to get an early taste of the action-packed horror that awaits when Resident Evil Village launches on May 7th 2021.

Players can explore the village and castle areas of the game for up to 60 minutes in a limited time demo for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam and Stadia. This multiplatform demo will be accessible for 24 hours starting May 2nd 2021 at 8:00 PM AEST , with a pre-load option already available.

In advance of the multiplatform demo, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 players will have two early access opportunities, where they will have an 8-hour window to play 30 minutes for each section.

The first date will offer the village portion starting April 19th, 2021 at 3:00 AM AEST. A second date will offer the castle area starting on April 26th, 2021 at 3:00 AM AEST with a pre-load option already available.

Anthem is developer Bioware’s next big game, and the importance of it to the company is hard to understate. Following the generally disappointing Mass Effect: Andromeda, this is the opportunity for Bioware to redeem itself and demonstrate that it can still make fantastic games. Millions of dollars and thousands of hours of work by dedicated teams have been poured into making this an experience that will not only rival the great online RPG experiences of today but set new standards.

Recently I was given the opportunity to take part in the VIP Anthem Demo, to see what the world of Anthem is really like. Despite the game releasing in only a few short weeks, there is still much that is unknown about what the game actually feels like to play and what’s like to explore its world in Anthem’s distinctive Javelin suits. And despite some early issues getting into the game, I came away impressed about the world that Bioware has built, but with some reservations about how this game will stick up again it’s contemporaries.

But let’s back up for a second. Anthem is a third person shared-world online shooter by EA’s Bioware, set in a future where humans live in small cities (“Forts”) surrounded by the dangerous wilds. Freelancers, in human-sized mech suits known as Javelins that can fly for short bursts are used to explore the world and keep the remaining humans safe. In terms of worldbuilding its fairly unique, but mechanically it has much in common with other shared world shooters such as Destiny 2 and The Division.

The demo I was able to use contained a couple of missions and the ability to fly around one of the world’s open areas. Playing on PC, I was struck by how cohesive and well thought out the game’s art direction was. This is a beautiful game to be sure, though I was able to ramp up all the graphical settings to their max thanks to a Core i7-8700K and NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti, so the console versions may vary somewhat in terms of what graphical capabilities they’re able to push. Textures were sharp, animations were fluid and character models were hugely detailed. In the larger environments, the jungles were lush and though I did see some texture pop-in, the draw distances looking over expansive vistas were also very good.

But what of the missions and reasons for exploring these worlds? To me, it’s still up in the air about if it will feel truly great or have a same satisfying hook as the way shooting in a Destiny game does. Though I knew the demo features only lower-level characters without as much of the significant customisation and weapon upgrades as you will find in the final game, I didn’t feel that I had a bonding moment with the game’s shooting, exploration or other combat mechanics in the same way as I have done with say, Mario’s jump in Super Mario World, or the addictive loop of a Civilisation game.

The experience that came closest though, is the flying. Your javelin mech suit can fly (including underwater) for short periods of time before overheating, time that can be extended by going through waterfalls or by dropping into a steep dive. I can see how this might be more fully explored in the final game, with missions tasking you to carefully manage your suits heat levels and navigate tight pathways. So far I haven’t really come to terms with how to incorporate flying into taking out enemies, though I can certainly see the potential of what high-level play could look like.

One area that I would like to see improvements in is the menu system, where you’re never quite sure if what you’ve clicked on has actually done what you expect. Sometimes it’s clicking, sometimes it’s click and hold, and other times its press enter and then escape with no confirmation. Some consistency in the menus would go a long way to making the complicated upgrade and mission select screen much more useable.

Of course, it is impossible to truly know how the final game will shape up. And that’s not even considering that as an ongoing, games as a service live game, Anthem will continuously shift, catch up and make mistakes as content is released, expansions are developed and millions of players engage with the games world and mechanics in, I’m sure, ways that the developer have not yet intended.

For those who missed out on the VIP demo, then there will be a further open demo shortly, and despite my reservations so far, I am looking forward to seeing what else this game can bring to the table.

Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. has officially announced their agreement with AC Milan to continue as the club’s Official Football Video Game Partner as well as widening their existing agreement. The deal extends an already successful partnership between KONAMI and the Italian club into its second year. Legend players alongside this partnership announcement will be announced shortly.

AC Milan is a club that has enjoyed a rich history since its birth in 1899, boasting the greatest number of successes for an Italian side on the international stage. AC Milan has won Europe’s biggest club football competition seven times, the European Cup Winners’ Cup twice and is also the five times winner of the match between the reigning champions of the two main European club competitions.

The agreement will see the club’s players be perfectly recreated within PES 2019 thanks to KONAMI’s proprietary 3D scanning system. KONAMI was also given extensive access to the San Siro in order to recreate a highly detailed emulation of the stadium’s features and dimensions within the game.

The 3D scanning system will not only capture the visual likenesses of players such as Lucas Biglia, Alessio Romagnoli and Gianluigi Donnarumma, but will also imitate their movements, playing styles and tactical capabilities. In fact, AC Milan is currently available in the PES 2019 demo, which can be downloaded for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

KONAMI will enjoy continued prominence across the San Siro’s match-day LED sponsor boards, and PES 2019 will also be promoted via the ground’s giant LED screen. Additional promotions will take place in official partner zones in the ground, the Milanello Sport Centre training facility and the Vismara Sport Centre.
