After ten years of building a thriving creator community, North American esports organisation Complexity has officially announced the closure of its long-running content creator programme.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of working with some incredibly passionate talent. Complexity’s content creators have consistently delivered both on-stream and irl, entertaining and inspiring countless viewers across the world.

These ambassadors have successfully united… pic.twitter.com/39jfYAZT33

The programme, which served as a platform for streamers and influencers representing Complexity across multiple games and events, has been an integral part of the organisation’s identity. Its creators not only entertained fans on stream but also worked with charitable initiatives such as Extra Life, helping to raise awareness and funds for good causes.

In an announcement shared on October 8, 2025, Complexity said it was “sadly announcing the end” of its content creator programme, marking the conclusion of a key chapter in the organisation’s history. The decision follows a period of downscaling, as Complexity continues to restructure amid broader financial pressures within the esports industry.

Sad to be closing down our creator program after 10 years and working with dozens of not hundreds of the industry’s best.

The shutdown comes on the heels of several major exits for Complexity this year. In June, the organisation announced its departure from Apex Legends esports, ending a six-year run in the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS). Then, in August, Complexity stepped away from Counter-Strike 2, citing economic challenges as the driving factor.

Despite the cutbacks, Complexity isn’t entirely leaving the competitive scene. The organisation continues to field teams in Rocket League and Halo, with the latter set to appear at the Halo World Championship 2025, the final major event for Halo Infinite before the title’s official retirement from the Halo Championship Series later this year.

Founded in 2003, Complexity stands as one of esports’ most enduring organisations, with a legacy that spans multiple eras of competitive gaming. Its decision to shutter the creator programme represents not just a loss for the team, but a reflection of the wider tightening across the esports landscape.

As the industry continues to evolve, many will be watching closely to see how Complexity adapts to its next phase, and whether this is a temporary retreat or the start of a new direction.

Riot Games is rolling out a closed beta of its revamped Partner Program, aimed at bringing new perks and stronger support to creators across League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and VALORANT.

This marks the next stage in the evolution of the League Partner Program (LPP), which had been frozen for years while Riot rethought how best to support creators. The new system is designed to recognise content creators across more of Riot’s titles, while also experimenting with ways to make the program more rewarding and sustainable long term.

A Closed Beta for Select Creators

Starting this week, a limited group of creators worldwide are being invited to join the closed beta. Riot explained that keeping the test small helps maintain quality and ensures the program works properly across different regions and communities before it’s expanded.

For League creators, this means a long-awaited chance to rejoin a refreshed program. For VALORANT and TFT creators, it’s the very first opportunity to officially gain Riot-backed benefits and recognition.

What’s on Offer

The first perks for partners are expected to roll out in late October. They include cosmetic rewards and in-game recognition, such as:

A “Like, Comment, Subscribe” title in League of Legends

A “VALORANT Partner” title in VALORANT

A Mythic Little Legend in Teamfight Tactics

Riot also plans to test additional perks over the coming months. Some benefits may stick around permanently, while others will evolve or rotate depending on feedback from both creators and players.

The company says its ambition is to make the program feel “meaningful and intentional”, ensuring creators feel properly supported while building stronger ties with their audiences.

Looking Ahead

While the current beta only covers League, VALORANT, and TFT, Riot confirmed it plans to expand creator support to other titles including Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, Riftbound, and 2XKO in the future.

Applications to the Partner Program remain closed for now. Riot expects to reopen them in late 2026, once the system has been tested and refined. Until then, invites will remain selective, with creators who consistently produce active, high-quality content likely having the best shot at joining once applications open.

Notable Changes from the Old LPP

Compared to the old League Partner Program, which offered things like developer access, free in-game items, and community chroma giveaways, this new version is broader in scope. Riot has confirmed chroma giveaways won’t return, instead focusing on perks that it believes will better connect creators with their communities.

For creators who were previously part of the LPP, an invite to the new beta isn’t guaranteed. Riot noted that some former partners have shifted away from creating content or moved to other games, and the company wants to focus on active creators still driving their communities forward.

Staying Safe From Scams

Riot also issued a warning about potential phishing scams. Official invites will only come from “@riotgames.com” or “@mail.creators.riotgames.com” email addresses. The company stressed that it will never ask for passwords or send application links through Discord or text messages.

The Bigger Picture

With creators being a major part of how Riot’s games are experienced and shared, this new Partner Program is a clear step towards strengthening that relationship. By testing different perks and gathering feedback now, Riot hopes to build a system that’s genuinely worth the wait.

In today’s gaming scene, content is king — but language barriers still hold many creators back. That’s exactly what OverActive Media is hoping to solve with their latest launch: ActiveVoices, an AI-powered localisation platform built with streamers, esports teams, and content creators in mind.

This morning we announced the launch of our newest product ActiveVoices!

A new AI-powered platform that helps people share their content in multiple languages without losing their voice 🗣️https://t.co/5vnDp1c2qQ

— OverActive (@overactivegg) August 6, 2025

Unveiled at the China Esports Conference 2025 in Shanghai, ActiveVoices is OverActive’s shiny new toy, and it’s not just a gimmick. It’s designed to help creators instantly translate, dub, and share their content across major platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, and Instagram. Think of it as a one-click tool to help VALORANT frag montages or CS2 highlight reels reach fans in Madrid, Jakarta, or Riyadh, all without losing that original creator’s vibe.

From the get-go, the platform supports over a dozen languages including English, Spanish, Mandarin, Hindi, Indonesian, and Arabic. That’s a massive win for streamers who want to grow their communities worldwide, without dealing with the headaches (or costs) of traditional translation and dubbing.

“AI can either centralise control or empower people,” said Adam Adamou, Co-Founder and CEO of OverActive Media. “ActiveVoices is built entirely around creator empowerment.”

And he’s not wrong. Let’s say you’re a New Zealand VALORANT player with a spicy 1v4 clutch. Normally, your highlight video might do well in English-speaking circles, but what about fans in Brazil, South Korea, or the Middle East? With ActiveVoices, your clip could be dubbed and shared across the globe in minutes, and it’ll still sound like you, just in another language.

Or imagine a CS2 content creator in Indonesia running a weekly commentary show. With this tech, they could push that same episode to Spanish-speaking fans or even Hindi-speaking esports communities, no need to manually redo anything. It’s all done through the platform, while keeping their tone and style intact.

Why it matters:

🌎 Streaming is global, but content is still local

🧠 Most creators lack the tools to scale multilingual reach

🎙️ ActiveVoices keeps the original voice, tone, and intent

🔐 Creators own their voice – not Big Tech.

No cloning. No compromise.

— Adam Adamou 🐦‍🔥🎏 (@Grazen) August 6, 2025

The tech behind it comes from a partnership with Aview, a company that specialises in AI voice and localisation. Together, they’ve crafted a tool that doesn’t just translate, it dubs content in a way that feels human, and even respects the creator’s voice and personality. That’s especially key in esports, where fans get attached to the voice and identity of their favourite streamers and players.

ActiveVoices will first roll out in a pilot called KOI Voices, available to OverActive’s own brands like Movistar KOI and Toronto Ultra. A few lucky partners are getting early access, with more to be invited soon. After that, the platform will go commercial as a SaaS (software-as-a-service) product, opening up new doors for teams, agencies, and creator networks.

It’s also part of a bigger play from OverActive. They’re turning their already massive audience (over 100 million fans!) into something more sustainable, using tools like ActiveVoices to build recurring revenue while giving creators more reach — and more control.

“This marks a pivotal step in OverActive’s evolution,” said Adamou. “We’re expanding into a global media and tech platform.”

And honestly? It makes sense. Content is global now. Games like VALORANT, CS2, League of Legends, and Call of Duty have fans in every corner of the world. But the creator economy hasn’t caught up, not until now.

ActiveVoices might just be the tool that lets a South Korean League caster connect with Spanish-speaking fans, or a French CS2 analyst break into the English-speaking scene. And in a world where your audience can be anywhere, that kind of reach is priceless.

Wanna see it in action or request a demo? Head over to www.joinactivevoices.com
