Spending the last two months touring and promoting his current single throughout the USA has paid off well for the Australian artist, with ‘Be Alright’ impacting charts and today reaching GOLD certification by RIAA in the USA.

In Australia, ‘Be Alright’ spent 5 consecutive weeks at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart and topped the TMN Hottest 100 Airplay Chart for 8 weeks running, defying format boundaries with airplay across alternative, rock and CHR/Pop radio. It has seen a similar result at radio internationally with the track impacting and rising on HOT AC (Top 10) and TOP 40 radio (Top 30) in the USA, and with UK support coming from BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, Radio X, and Beats 1. Throughout Europe it has hit #1 in Switzerland and Czech Republic, #2 in Germany, #8 in Netherlands, #25 in France, and Top 50 in Canada at Pop Radio.

‘Be Alright’ topped the Apple Music, Shazam, iTunes and Spotify Charts in Australia, peaking at #1 in 6 markets and Top 10 in 23 countries on iTunes, and reaching the Top 5 in 13 markets on Apple Music. Dean Lewis launched his career with his single ‘Waves’ in 2017. The track went on to become the second biggest selling single of the year in his home country as well as achieving 4 x Platinum sales in Australia alone. ‘Waves’ was nominated for 2 x APRA Awards, 5 x ARIA Awards and appeared on cult programs like Suits, Riverdale, and Grey’s Anatomy. ‘Waves’ was the first single to be released from his debut EP ‘Same Kind of Different’ which also bore additional hit singles ‘Need You Now’ (Gold) and ‘Lose My Mind’ (Platinum).

Capping off his enormous year of dominating the charts, huge single sales and sold-out live shows, the breakthrough artist continues his largest tour to date in Australia supported by ROBINSON and Jack Gray. Released on this very day (7th September) in 1998, Powderfinger proudly announce a 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the Quintuple Platinum, 4x ARIA award winning recording, Internationalist. The 20th Anniversary of Powderfinger’s Internationalist album, featuring unreleased tracks, will be released on Friday October 12th, 2018.

The original 13 track album will be expanded to 35 tracks, including a triple j Live At The Wireless session from 12th October 1998 (never before available commercially), all B-sides from the album (available digitally for the first time), alongside previously unreleased demos including the never before heard track Feels Like Something – listen here. Digging deep into the vaults and lifted from the Internationalist demo recording sessions, the slow-burn structure, quiet/loud dynamic and cascading crescendo of this demo make it unmistakably of its time. Tracked, recorded and mixed in the bands own studio by Darren Middleton and Ian Haug. The Deluxe Edition will be available on 2LP purple vinyl, 2CD Deluxe and digitally.

1998 was a landmark year for Powderfinger. Two years prior, their Double Allergic album provided a breakthrough to Powderfinger’s career. It occupied 10 weeks in the ARIA top ten, eventually achieving triple-platinum. Buoyed by the singles Pick You Up, Living Type and DAF, all were in the upper echelons of the triple J Hottest 100 of 1996. Internationalist, the band’s third album, was released on September 7th 1998 and immediately hit the #1 spot on the ARIA chart, spending six weeks in the Top Ten. It was the album that cemented the band as the force that they became and holds a very special place in the hearts and music collections of hundreds of thousands of fans.

Recorded at Melbourne’s Sing Sing studios, Internationalist was produced by Nick DiDia, (the first outing in a long-standing relationship) whom the band credit strongly for finding the Powderfinger ‘sound’.  ‘We probably can’t overstate the influence Nick had on helping us define this album, and three subsequent. We tracked the main body of the album in a few weeks and we were all gobsmacked at how good he’d got it all to sound. We had made great sounding records before, but this was ALIVE. It was leaping out of the speakers when we mixed it’.

The first single from the album came in the form of The Day You Come, which was released a month prior to the album, with its down tempo arrangement in tangent to what would make up the rest of the album. The second single was the double sucker-punch of Don’t Wanna Be Left Out / Good Day Ray followed by Already Gone. The fourth single, Passenger, was released 11 months after the album and immediately propelled it back into the Top Ten for another 12 weeks. Internationalist spent 101 weeks in the ARIA Top 50, one of only two Australian albums to have achieved over 100 weeks in the Top 50. The album enjoys a peerless legacy 20 years on, having forged a path of both critical acclaim and commercial success, as well as being highly cherished by fans.

At the ARIA awards in 1999 Internationalist took home the awards for Album of the Year, Best Rock Album and Best Cover Art (by Kevin Wilkins), and The Day You Come won Single of the Year. Passenger was nominated for three additional categories the following year.

The 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of Internationalist will be released on Friday October 12th 2018 across a variety of formats including vinyl.

It was always going to be special when two of Australia’s finest singer-songwriters announced they were teaming up to release their first ever album together.

Country artists, and husband and wife duo, Adam Eckersley & Brooke McClymont today celebrate their debut album ADAM & BROOKE charting #1 on the ARIA Country Album chart and Top 20 on the ARIA All-Genre Album Chart and announce additional shows to their already extensive ‘Highway Sky Tour’.  

“This is just the best news so thanks to everyone that is supporting us.” Brooke commented. “We didn’t know what to expect when we decided to do an album together but we did know that we love the songs and the recordings and you can only hope that if you love it then other people will too.”

The self-produced, 10-track album has been praised by fans & critics alike with Country Update Magazine stating “It is a body of work in a class all of its own and may well be the best Australian country duets album ever. I can’t think of a better one. It is a treat for the ears – lyrically and in terms of real people making real sounds playing real instruments really well, with no BS bells and whistles!”

The five-month long ‘Highway Sky Tour’ will take the duo across the nation and they’ll be taking some of the brightest emerging talent with them.

2018 Toyota Star Maker winner, Brad Cox will support on the majority of newly announced shows with Imogen Clark, Melanie Dyer, Tori Forsyth, Andrew Thomson, Blake O’Connor and Brad Butcher supporting on various dates for the rest of the tour. “Most of these shows are Brooke & I with a couple of acoustic guitars, a stomp box and a bunch of stories & songs.” Adam said. “It’s so much fun and we’ve got a great bunch of artists joining us, I can’t think of anything I’d rather be doing.”
