in collaboration with Universal Games and Digital Platforms, announced today that an enhanced version of the popular survival adventure game Jurassic World Aftermath Collection is out now on the newly launched PlayStation VR2, and PlayStation VR.

This new version includes both Part 1 and Part 2 of Jurassic World Aftermath in one complete package. The PS VR2’s version takes advantage of its capabilities with a range of enhancements, including a brand new Dino Viewer.

Set between the events of the Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom films, Jurassic World Aftermath Collection begins with players crash-landing on Isla Nublar after the fall of the Jurassic World theme park. In this fully voice-acted narrative featuring Sam (voiced by Laura Bailey) and Dr. Ian Malcolm (voiced by Jeff Goldblum), players find themselves trapped in an abandoned research facility when their mission to recover valuable information goes disastrously wrong.

To survive, players will need to explore and solve puzzles, while evading a menagerie of ferocious dinosaurs, including ravenous Pteranodons, cunning Velociraptors, and the terrifying T. Rex.

This version of Jurassic World Aftermath Collection enjoys enhanced visuals and performance boosts, including improved lighting, better post-processing effects and faster load times, targeting 4K 90fps. Adding to the immersion in a world where players are surrounded by apex predators, the game makes use of 3D audio and the PS VR2’s headset rumble feature to enhance the experience.

This edition also gains a new feature exclusive to PS VR2: the Dino Viewer. A great addition for the dinosaur-obsessed, the Dino Viewer will allow players to take a close look at the variety of dinosaurs encountered in the game.

Featuring a variety of cool locations and dinosaur encounters, Jurassic World Aftermath Collection delivers the wonder and excitement franchise fans want, from venturing to the opulent heights of Dr. Henry Wu’s office, to delving into a secret vault deep beneath the facility, all leading to the story’s thrilling conclusion. Players will feel the thrill of being hunted by ruthless prehistoric predators that roam and dominate the island. They must be weary of noise as you use a combination of stealth and distraction to evade jaws all too eager to make humans their next meal and solve puzzles while trying to survive.

Players who purchase Jurassic World Aftermath Collection will benefit from Dual Entitlement, which allows the game to be playable on both PlayStation VR and PlayStation VR2 at no additional cost.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced to us here at STG news on Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, a new expansion for the hit videogame Mortal Kombat 11, the best-selling title in franchise history that was named Fighting Game of the Year at the 2019 D.I.C.E. Awards.

Set for a global release on digital first beginning May 26th, 2020 and developed by award-winning NetherRealm Studios, Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath expands the critically acclaimed story campaign with an all-new, cinematic narrative centred around trust and deceit.

The epic saga continues in Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, as Fire God Liu Kang, the new keeper of time and protector of Earthrealm, must now enlist the help of unlikely allies and familiar foes to forge a new history as the fate of two worlds hang in the balance.

Adding to the growing roster of playable fighters, the new expansion features the triumphant return of Fujin, the God of Wind who serves as Earthrealm’s protector alongside his brother Raiden, and Sheeva, the four-armed, half-human and half-dragon queen of the ancient Shokan race. RoboCop, the iconic, highly advanced cybernetic police officer will make his first appearance in the franchise, continuing the pedigree of popular Mortal Kombat guest fighters.

RoboCop in Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath features the voice and likeness of actor Peter Weller, who portrayed the popular character in both the original “RoboCop” (1987) film and “RoboCop 2” (1990) sequel. These features will be available as a free content update in conjunction with the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath release.

Inspired by true events, the thriller / drama starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, follows a man who’s wife and daughter die in a terrible and freak plane crash when two planes collide in the air. Although seemingly moving on, Schwarzenegger’s character is still troubled by the circumstances of which the plane crash happened and it’s determined to gain some sort of closure.

The irony of the opening sequence is melancholic and more powerful since we know what will happen. The Father, Roman is so happy to see his wife and daughter again, with Christmas music playing and a ‘welcome home’ sign on the wall.

Surprisingly, we don’t see the crash happen (at least initially). The subtlety of seeing Roman just being told with more emotional and responsive as opposed to a huge explosion for example. You don’t always have to see something to believe it.

In an interesting turn of events, we don’t only follow Roman through the narrative but also Jacob, the man in charge of the control room when the planes crashed. Seeing the two ‘sides’ of the story from two very different perspectives, allowed a more complex story and character development.

I’m very much starting to appreciate Schwarzenegger’s emotional range as an actor. Even though it’s typically seen in small C list movies with not the best reviews, there’s no denying his effort to push new boundaries even this late in his career.

Aftermath manages to provide an interesting thriller / drama even though it still falls into the C grade movie listings.
